You could ask that same question and substitute Seventh Day with any other denomination. 7th Day has a dubious history with their second coming of Christ teachings. They are very rigid in Saturday as the Sabbath and other old covenant laws. That's fine for some but Paul explains very well why we need not get caught up in that. It doesn't change the main message of the Messiah as far as I can tell from the little dealings I've had with friends who are 7th Day. The entire message is centered around Jesus and if it isn't, then you better get out of it.

I am no expert, but my understanding is that most mainline Christian denominations would accept the Seventh Day Adventists as real Christians, but that they are under a measure of legalism due to their insistence on placing Saturday as the day of worship (see Colossians 2:16,17); and also because of the excessive weight of authority they place upon the writings of a certain "prophetess".

Because They believe that Sunday is thee day of worship.Which it is not.In the Bible it states that the 7th day is to rest which is Saturday.I am Seventh Day Adventists there is nothing wrong with this religion. In the other religions you have out there you have to worship on Sunday.Which is the wrong day.We as SAD believe that you have give your life to the lord,by beginning baptized when you are older in life to choices for your self.We also Believe in not eating unclean meat such as red meats. Also we believe that you should not drink or do drugs or have sex before marriage. This is all a sin.We also believe in helping other people that need brought to the lord to be saved.I leave you with this.I know that out there, there will be people who criticized me for say this but, I don't care what they think they have to deal with there own life and what to do with it.There are damming there soul if you keep on sinning these ways.Good luck to you all who have not been baptized.

the diet restrictions & way adventist celebrate the sabbath are the source of all the friction. most other christians believe sabbath is on sunday not saturday. other sects don't temporary refrain from everything besides religious services from sunset to sunrise for the sabbath.
most christain dogma polarizes the world into US versuse THEM. since the other sects seem to agree on Sunday, secularism, and not keeping kosher they position themselves in stern opposition of seventh day adventist.

Seventh Day Adventists have their own version of the Bible, think poorly of anyone who worships on Sunday rather than on Saturday plus other issues:

For the most part, the Sabbath day thing.
Those who seek to be justified by the old covenant, the law, must live by the law. Christians are under a new covenant, and have enter into His rest. Everyday is a sabbath day in Christ, living by the law of His Spirit. We are justified and made righteous through our faith in Him, not by what we do or not do. We are saved by grace, not works.

I'm not against them or anyone. I don't think they have it right, I go to Church on the Lords day which according to the Bible is Sunday. They go on the Sabbath which is Saturday. I don't believe in their prophets either. I believe the Bible is complete.
