That sounds very good. I would saute them at the beginning with some onion and garlic so that they soften up and blend into the sauce better. Hope it turns out well.

It sounds good to me. The only concern I'd have is whether the acid in the tomatoes would curdle the alfredo sauce. If it does, it might not look as good (it'd probably taste OK, though)

Why do you want to add tomatoes? If you want to serve a tomato dish with the alfredo, slice them, season with salt and pepper and serve them on the side!

I would also suggest removing the seeds and pulp before chopping them. Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the pulp and seeds with a spoon, then chop to whatever fineness you want. Also, I wouldn't add them until right before you're done cooking; they won't take long to heat up in the sauce and you don't want to risk their flavor getting overwhemed by overcooking.

Sounds like a fabulous idea to me, I am obbsessed with tomatoes. And yes I would add them in at the end. It won't hurt the sauce or anything, enjoy your dinner yummmy!

very good, if you wanted you could throw them whole in to boiling water, then an ice bath, score an X in each end and peel, then chop, but it is also very nice to have the tomatoes added at the end.

I wouldn't prefer it myself, but you could do it. I would halve cherry tomatoes and put them in at the last minute. Be sure and use parsley for color and maybe a little procuitto slivered on top.

it might be good...but you might want to remove the seeds, etc from the tomato flesh before adding them. Otherwise, I think it might thin your sauce too much!
