Of course, you might be sleeping with your mouth open, but often it means you ate or drank something with sugar in it before you went to bed, assuming there is nothing medically wrong with you or you are not on any medications. Sugar dehydrates you. Do not eat any sweets after dinner time and your mouth will feel much better in the morning.

THIS DRYNESS OF THE MOUTH IS CAUSED BY INNERVATION MAINLY TO THE PAROTID GLAND. WHILE SLEEPING THERE IS NOT A NEED TO CONTINUALLY KEEP THE MOUTH MOIST IN THE SAME WAY AS WHEN YOU'RE AWAKE.
IF THIS DRYNESS DIDN'T OCCUR THEN YOU'D CONSTANTLY BE SWALLOWING EXCESS SALIVA WHILE SLEEPING.

Some medication will cause this... you might be sleeping with your mouth open.
