Yeah and Jesus also told his followers to become as one. And a Husband and wife are to be as one, when they get married. So what does this actually mean? Are they all one person walking around? No. They are very much individuals but they are in UNION with each other.

Jesus always existed as the "Word" of God - fully God since the beginning of time and before (John 1:1)

Jesus is the creator of everything on Heaven and on Earth (Colossians 1:15-20)

Jesus is the Son of God, Son to the Father (John 12:27-29)

Jesus confirmed even being the Son, there is one God (Mark 12:29-32) - no confusion with the Trinity.

Jesus was known by the patriarchs (John 8:56)

Jesus became man, dwelling among us for a time (John 1:14)

Jesus was fully human (Hebrews 4:15), and fully God while human (John 8:58)

He died, rose from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 1:3)

Jesus is reigning from Heaven now (1 Corinthians 15:25)

Anyone who claims that Jesus is not God is either influenced or posessed by the spirit of the antichrist (1 John 4:3)

Likewise anyone who denies Jesus Christ as coming from God in human flesh is also either influenced or posessed by the spirit of the antichrist (2 John 1:7)

Christian and non-Christian alike - EVERY KNEE will bow to Jesus one-day. (Philippians 2:9-11)

At that time, it's best to be on the Lord's side.

Yes, Jesus is God. He claimed He was God, because He is God. He claimed He and the Father are One because this is true. Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life. What He says is true. He is God and will always be God. He lives in you and me. Get to know Him and you too will know He is God. He can show you if you ask Him to. Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. God bless you.

1) JESUS DID NOT FULFILL THE MESSIANIC PROPHECIES

What is the Messiah supposed to accomplish? The Bible says that he will:

A. Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).

B. Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).

C. Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)

D. Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world -- on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).

The historical fact is that Jesus fulfilled none of these messianic prophecies.

Christians counter that Jesus will fulfill these in the Second Coming, but Jewish sources show that the Messiah will fulfill the prophecies outright, and no concept of a second coming exists.

2) JESUS DID NOT EMBODY THE PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS OF MESSIAH

A. MESSIAH AS PROPHET

Jesus was not a prophet. Prophecy can only exist in Israel when the land is inhabited by a majority of world Jewry. During the time of Ezra (circa 300 BCE), when the majority of Jews refused to move from Babylon to Israel, prophecy ended upon the death of the last prophets -- Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

Jesus appeared on the scene approximately 350 years after prophecy had ended.

B. DESCENDENT OF DAVID

According to Jewish sources, the Messiah will be born of human parents and possess normal physical attributes like other people. He will not be a demi-god, nor will he possess supernatural qualities.

The Messiah must be descended on his father's side from King David (see Genesis 49:10 and Isaiah 11:1). According to the Christian claim that Jesus was the product of a virgin birth, he had no father -- and thus could not have possibly fulfilled the messianic requirement of being descended on his father's side from King David!

C. TORAH OBSERVANCE

The Messiah will lead the Jewish people to full Torah observance. The Torah states that all mitzvot (commandments) remain binding forever, and anyone coming to change the Torah is immediately identified as a false prophet. (Deut. 13:1-4)

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus contradicts the Torah and states that its commandments are no longer applicable. (see John 1:45 and 9:16, Acts 3:22 and 7:37) For example, John 9:14 records that Jesus made a paste in violation of Shabbat, which caused the Pharisees to say (verse 16), "He does not observe Shabbat!"

3) MISTRANSLATED VERSES "REFERRING" TO JESUS

Biblical verses can only be understood by studying the original Hebrew text -- which reveals many discrepancies in the Christian translation.

A. VIRGIN BIRTH

The Christian idea of a virgin birth is derived from the verse in Isaiah 7:14 describing an "alma" as giving birth. The word "alma" has always meant a young woman, but Christian theologians came centuries later and translated it as "virgin." This accords Jesus' birth with the first century pagan idea of mortals being impregnated by gods.

B. CRUCIFIXION

The verse in Psalms 22:17 reads: "Like a lion, they are at my hands and feet." The Hebrew word ki-ari (like a lion) is grammatically similar to the word "gouged." Thus Christianity reads the verse as a reference to crucifixion: "They pierced my hands and feet."

C. SUFFERING SERVANT

Christianity claims that Isaiah chapter 53 refers to Jesus, as the "suffering servant."

In actuality, Isaiah 53 directly follows the theme of chapter 52, describing the exile and redemption of the Jewish people. The prophecies are written in the singular form because the Jews ("Israel") are regarded as one unit. The Torah is filled with examples of the Jewish nation referred to with a singular pronoun.

Ironically, Isaiah's prophecies of persecution refer in part to the 11th century when Jews were tortured and killed by Crusaders who acted in the name of Jesus.

From where did these mistranslations stem? St. Gregory, 4th century Bishop of Nazianzus, wrote: "A little jargon is all that is necessary to impose on the people. The less they comprehend, the more they admire."

That is a hard question for most to answer. He was the literal son of God. He was while in spirit, before he was born Jehovah. And under the direction of the father, God, created the earth and all that is upon it. After he died, was able to overcome death and thus enabled us to also overcome death when the time is right. He also took upon himself all the sins of the world thus enabling us to be forgiven of our sins because he has paid the price of sin for all those who believe upon him. He was and still is one of the three in the God head. He himself has said all the glory goes to the father.

No, he never claimed to be God.

Instead we read things like:

"And after they got up into the boat, the windstorm abated. Then those in the boat did obeisance to him, saying: “You are really God’s Son." -Matthew 14:32-33

"“Others he saved; himself he cannot save! He is King of Israel; let him now come down off the torture stake and we will believe on him. 43 He has put his trust in God; let Him now rescue him if He wants him, for he said, ‘I am God’s Son." -Matthew 27:42-43

"But the army officer and those with him watching over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things happening, grew very much afraid, saying: “Certainly this was God’s Son.”
-Matthew 27:54

"Jesus answered them: “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said: “YOU are gods”’? 35 If he called ‘gods’ those against whom the word of God came, and yet the Scripture cannot be nullified, 36 do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world,

‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?

If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe me. 38 But if I am doing them, even though YOU do not believe me, believe the works, in order that YOU may come to know and may continue knowing that the Father is in union with me and I am in union with the Father" -John 10:34:38

"The Jews answered him: “We have a law, and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself God’s son.”
-John 19:7

When you say that He stated that he and the Father are one you are correct. However, there is much evidence already presented in the previous Scriptures that show plainly that he was not God but God's Son. Notice the following:

"What my Father has given me is something greater than all other things, and no one can snatch them out of the hand of the Father. 30 I and the Father are one*.” -John 10:29-30

*Or, “at unity.” Lit., “one (thing).” Gr., hen, neuter, to show oneness in cooperation

With the above information we can see that they were ONE in purpose and that is the context of the Scripture.

And if that doesn't drive the point home then the next Scripture will mean nothing to you either:

Pilippians 2:5-11

"Keep this mental attitude in YOU that was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God. 7 No, but he emptied himself and took a slave’s form and came to be in the likeness of men. 8 More than that, when he found himself in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient as far as death, yes, death on a torture stake. 9 For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, 10 so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, 11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father."

To be "God" he would have to be Equal wouldn't he?
God exhalted him, so it is plain that he was superior to Jesus.

If you can't get it from these points of reasoning I guess you may not be reasonable at all.

The gospel of John tells us so.

In the beginning was the word (Jesus) and the word was with God and the word was God.

Without him (Jesus) nothing was made that was made.
All things were made for him and by him.

And the word ( Jesus ) became flesh and dwelt among us.

Hallelujah

I explain the Godhead like this-If you took a glass of water and splashed it on the floor and it formed several parts. Which part is water?

God to fulfill prophecy, Took a part of himself ( Elohim) via God the Holy Spirit and put himself into a virgin and he would be called Emanuel ( God with us )

He is the Son of the Almighty God.
A god,, the word.
School girl you make no sense. Did you actually read what you began with, Son of God, sent here to earth by his Father. This is two different beings! Proving the trinity a false teaching. You keep going on and on proving Jesus is the Son of God. Not
God the Son.

Yes, Jesus left all of HIS Glory (the Things that make HIM the Creator) in Heaven and came down here to Become a Man (Legally--through a woman--the Legal Way to Enter the Earth) so that HE could Sneak into Hell and get Back what Adam Lost to satan. (Hell is satans home on the Earth).
Jesus gives this Power and Authority to ANYBODY who will Believe Who HE is and give HIM Permission to Recreate their Spirit, making them a Child of GOD.

It takes Time and Study and Prayer and Diligence to Learn how to Walk (use these Things, Power and Authority) for the Glory of GOD Almighty (Jesus).
You will stay a Child of GOD if you Choose not to Grow-Up by Learning how to Walk in Holiness.
All Children of GOD make Heaven their Home.

If he is not we are all dead in our sin. Yes Jesus is the Son of God a part of the whole of God and did come ot the world and overcome temptation as a man and remain perfect and provide the atonement with his blood to pay the penalty of death for all who accept the salvation that he offers.

What difference does it make? If I say yes, will I go to Heaven? If I say Jesus is the Son of God, will certain people say I am going to Hell? How does any of this have to do with what Jesus wants us to do? Which is, to get along with each other, by forgiving each other.

Jesus said,

"If you do not forgive others, your father in Heaven will not forgive you."

This is the clearest verse in the Bible. So if it easier for you to believe that Jesus is God, or Jesus is the Son of God, If you respect what he said and what he did, and follow his instructions, I am betting you will go to Heaven.

Is there a lesson to learn about "what we like to talk about", What would Jesus think about this Q and A chat group?
