My recipe calls for whipping cream is it the same as whipped cream? I'm not dumb i'm just a new cook....

Nope, definently not the same thing, they are in different stages. Whipped cream is whipping cream already whipped. It will make the recipe very different if you used one as a substitute for the other.

Whipping cream is the heavy cream you use before it's whipped. You can still pour it. Whipped cream is not pourable. The carton may say Heavy Cream instead of Whipping Cream. The only Whipped Cream you can buy will be in a can. What you want will be in a carton.

Whipping cream is the highfat cream (36% to 40+ in UK) that is used in cream soups and yes in whipped cream. Whipped cream is nothing more than whipping cream whipped up into a sweetened foam.

Your recipe is probably calling for liquid. Your whipping cream is , however, the same cream that you would use and 'whip' for toppings; it is the liquid BEFORE the whipping that it calls for. Have fun. what are you making???

if the recipe calls for you to whip it, you can use whipped cream
if it just calls for whipping cream,you have to use it
whipping cream is heavy, with a high fat content

Whipping cream is usually ~18% fat and hasn't been whipped yet. WhippED cream is made with this same kind of cream.
