what is your line of thinking when making assumptions like that? what gives you the right to judge all nonreligious and nonchristian people? where do you get your sense of self righteousness? where are your standards of morals coming from? why do you feel that you are more morally sound then nonreligious or nonchristian people? seriously i have noticed a very disturbing trend on this forum for quite awhile and even more so lately. please enlighten me and do so in a respectful way as i am not disrespecting you but i am genuine in my questioning and i know my line of questioning may be broad but it needs some broad answers thank you

No, I do no think that non religious or non Christian are immoral. Some non religious people have the best morals that I've ever seen and the often stick by them better. Just like you cannot judge a book by it's cover you cannot judge a persons morals by their religion.

i'm hoping youre no longer assuming that all and sundry christians assume that non religious definitely everyone seems to be immoral.. why do YOU assume this? Aha nah im basically messin.. yet heavily the final public of christians dont even think of this.. i dont! yet to respond to your question, i think its coz if youre no longer religious then youre no longer following Gods commandments... like the regulation of the land, ya cant say that somebody that speeds for all time and does some occasional shop lifting is a regulation abiding citizen! Sooo non religous human beings can be fairly ethical in accordance to wordly standards (conserving the regulation, being a solid man or woman and so on) yet immoral while it is composed of Gods standards.. yet once you dont belive in God than what does it count? Sorry if this doesnt make sence :/ aha.. solid MORALS FOR ALL :D

In most cases christians who don't feel comfortable with there religion will get offended. Non-Believers or people who question what is written still believe but I believe that they need proof. My boy is that way, swears to be an atheist but can quote more things from the bible than his over religous brother. having questions about others and there religion is what made my oldest boy a mormen. He said " they helped me to understand and there answers to my questions helped me to believe"! so being a believer or a non-believer is a preference and should be respected by all cause there is only one judge and he decides not those who think they are holier than thou. Hope this helps! I gave my kids the choice to believe and they have grown to be just as good an adult as those who believe you have no choice but to believe!!!!!!!

I see that you are a sensitive person. I have known atheists who are very moral and very charitable people. Where the problem lies is what do people base their knowledge of what is right and wrong on. One person believes that it is OK to do one thing another thinks it is not OK. The atheist does not have anything to say this is right or this is wrong, every man is for himself. Christians base their ideas of right and wrong on the Word of God. There are no grey areas. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Some people who are not believers still have a very high moral standard because God does give all people knowledge of right and wrong, others wouldn't know the difference if it hit them in the head.

First of all, the problem with this reasoning is what is moral to the atheist is governed most likely by society.
In Ancient times it was common to sacrifice a baby and put them in a jar to be built into the foundation of ones house for good luck. This was done by people who worshiped the goddess Diane. Popular lady.
This was moral to their society.
But, we as Christians have the 10 commandments to show us what sin is. What is moral. This doesn't change.
Now if one is a true christian they have to admit they have sin. I have so much sin it makes me sick. I see the 10 commandments and say, "yep, did that, and that, and that one twice." The bible says, 'He who says he is without sin is a liar"
No christian is more moral that a non christian. We are just believers in Jesus who is the Christ who died for our immorality and we try and follow his teachings.

Why do you assume that all Christians have that point of view towards people of no religious affiliation or other faiths? Its quite easy to make simplistic generalizations when your a hypocrite isn't it? Oh and by the way I am an atheist with a sense of morality in so far as right and wrong is concerned. my code of moral conduct is simple. Do on to others as you would have done on to you and to live and let live.

In a Christian ruled world, there is no freedom.
In a pompous religion-ruled world, there is no freedom.
Only when religions learn to respect the others beliefs and quit arguing over who is right and who is moral and get the **** over themselves, will they realize its all trivial in the end. When they are simply released back to the earth as re-usable energy. Earth is your mother. All of you came from the same place. Think about it.
If Jesus was real, and what I believe his values were taught to be, he would be very displeased on how modern Christians look down on other people.

Well, by grouping all Christians together, and assuming that's what we all think, aren't you doing the same thing?
Not all Christians do that. I know there are some very good, very moral nonreligious people, and I know because I've met many of them. In the same instance, I've met many immoral Christians.
I suppose, you've just never met a nice Christain.

I don't think Christians see other religions as entirely immoral. Christians see everyone as guilty of sin, because we are imperfect humans.
Let's say that someone is good all their life, but they don't believe in the Christians' God. Being good isn't enough, if you aren't paying homage to God.
Christianity DOES function on absolutes, whether or not they admit to it. If you are gay, then you are a sinner. If you are not Christian, then you believe in something other than God. What's "other" than god? Satan.
Still, the same (or similar) can be said for many other religions, belief structures, and philosophies. There is no perfect, and it is a factor that must constantly be challenged, lest we fall into a false comfort.
Don't forget to consider the individual. Regardless of what we are called to believe, there are good people everywhere who think otherwise. They may not say it due to paralyzing circumstances, but they are good in their own sense. That being said, there are just as many radicals who ruin it for the rest of us.

Why would you assume that all Christians think that non Christians are immoral? I was raised to believe in God and to try to live my life in a way that would reflect that. That does not include judging others. Only God can do that.
