It is often put forth that dogs are happier castrated. How can anyone know this? Are humans that have been castrated happier?

Well dogs cant talk if you haven't noticed... and with male dogs they run off when they are not fixed give unwanted pregnancies to females and birth of puppies that will more than likely end up dead since 3 million animals are euthanized every year because there are to many unwanted animals.... also sometimes with a non fixed male male they can develop prostate problems... So its better for the population of dogs if he is. Castrated dogs don't play such a big role like it would in the human world... Dogs when they have that drive its all they think about, well when that drive is gone then they can enjoy life I would suppose.

No, cos he talks a different language to me. But I do go on 'body language' and since my dog was castrated he has become a much happier dog. More gentle, obedient, lovable and not so crazy, hyperactive, and 'nervy' like he was before. So, yep, he sure is a happier dog., and when we are out he's not forever sniffing up every tree and around other dogs (sorry bitches) like he did before.

I'm sure they are probably not !!!!! But, we have to keep the dog, cat, etc., population down. Alot of animals are mistreated, as you know. So, that is the reason alot of times animals are spade or neutered. Also can be from illnesses they can get. (Castrated), is a harsh word !!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah--- my doggie said it was so much fun, he asked if we could go back to the vet so he could get castrated all over again.
I told him I didn't think he'd have the balls to do it.

They may be happier in the sense they arn't going through heat and be tormented by the fact they have to hump your leg to get their fix.
