You actually suffer from a known condition called "Compulsive Lying." Read up on the disorder and consider contacting a therapist for assistance.
Increased lying has been seen with a number of psychiatric diagnoses such as ADHD and Bipolar Disorder. With ADHD people will often say "I don't know why I did that", and when confronted about why they lied, their answer will be the same. ADHD children also display impulsivity, and they may lie implusively. Bipolar Disorder can be associated with low serotonin levels, which has been implicated in impulsivity, which, as indicated before, makes a person more prone to lie.

You lie cause you care so much about what people think about you & you always want to be prefect in the eyes of people ....
the good news is , you can simply stop lying if you give people opinions less importance in your life ....
i want you to go & face yourself in the mirror and say " i don't give a s h i t to this world and i just will be yourself & i will be happy ".
the key for not lying is to be honest with yourself in the first place..
Don't underestemate yourself , cause those who does are always in the end of the list ...
Good Luck

I know exactly what you are going through.
Up until the time that I won my first Nobel peace prize, I lied about everything. It all began at the age of 12 when I was recruited by a top secret government organization involved with international espionage. They wanted me because of my outstanding physical beauty.
As an international spy, lying became a big part of my very existence. I had to lie about everything to survive. I would tell you more, but then I would have to kill you.
I won $458 Million in a multi-state lottery and used the money to get a brain transplant in Switzerland. Now I don't lie anymore.
Honest!

When you lie, you are avoiding the truth. Sometimes telling the truth hurts. Though if you tell someone the truth it will make them a little upset, but things can work out for the best. We all make mistakes in life. Usually the other person will forgive you and give you a second chance to turn your life around. Sometimes we have secrets that will hurt everyone we love, but make peace with yourself. It will help you when everything is said and done.

Look at yourself, and find the source.
Why do you lie?
Because you're not doing well?
Personal problems?
Family problems?
Find out what's going on, and work from there. Take it step by step, figure out your goals, your light at the end of the tunnel. If you're religious, look toward your god. Your god is your savior.
If you aren't religious. Do it practically. Start fixing things, physically. Step by step. It may be painfully slow, but the benefits in the long run are huge.
I hope this helps
Good Luck!

What are you gaining from lying? Nothing, its making you miserable. IMO, you are just being an attention-seeker. Be yourself, other's will like you more. Believe me, others know when a person is lying so its best to stop now before you end up making a situation worse.

Get a therapist and be totally honest with them.
Then you will be able to start the process of changing your behavior and then your whole life.
Your lying is a symptom of something you haven't wanted to face.
If you want things to change...you will have to face the ultimate fear. Its worth it.

You need to realize that you are probably doing this to tell people what they want to hear. It sounds like you need to live up to others expectations. You also may have not accomplished much that you may have and you're telling others lies. You need to believe in yourself and believe that you ARE a good person and you don't have to tell these lies to make yourself LOOK GOOD! Just believe in yourself and you love yourself!

Often people lie because they are seeking acceptance. Instead of spending so much time seeking acceptance form people you feel don't accept you, start talking to people who understand how you feel.
Here's a start. It's a blog site for compulsive liers. Read their entries, contribute, make friends. See where it takes you.

Just put your life in danger in each lie. Then, when you go deeper and deeper into the lie, and people end up calling you on it, you'll be in it so deep you'll feel really bad and want to stop.
