Well for one thing you haven't been taught it. So it is hard to be judgemental over something you do not know. If you choose not to accept the theory of evolution that is fine. But keep in mind that by dismissing it you also dismiss other thoughts and ideas. That only makes for a poor foundation for human understanding. Is there anything really wrong with seeing another point of view? No there isn't. By knowing another view you only expand your horizons and increase your ability to better understand others that you share this world with. It is hard to disagree with someone else's view on creation if you do not know them.
Anyway to answer your question. I believe that you can be excused do to religious conflict in this regard. You will need to explain this to your teacher or principal. I do not know where you live so I can only tell you by what the majority of areas are allowing. As far as lawsuits don't you think we have enough of them over stuff. Maybe we sue to much because we fail to see the other persons side of it?

You are a classic example of a close-minded person. What would it hurt to at least learn about evolution? Then you can make an informed decision to believe in it or not. How can you dismiss something when you know little about it?
You should not be allowed to sue the school, they are not forcing you to change your beliefs, they are merely giving you all the information possible to make an informed decision on your faith.

Nope, because it's not a religious issue--it's a scientific one. You can't "believe" in evolution. If you do the research, you could claim that the evidence doesn't support it, but you can't "believe" in it.
Think about it this way--you will be able to argue against evolution better if you understand more about it. So learn, take what you learn back to your church, and weigh the evidence for yourself. You may find that, like I have, Christianity and evolution can work together. Or you may not. But learn, first.

1) Evolution is the most widely accepted scientific fact of our day.
2) I don't believe in evolution, either. I accept evolution, however.
3) Yes, you have to be taught evolution.
4) You can sue them. You won't be successful, though.
5) You can have your parents homeschool you. The only downside? A lack of an education.

If you choose not to believe in scientific fact, your parents can spend their money and give you an education in their, or your, faith. Why should public tax dollars be used to give you an education in something that is not true, and faith based? Evolution is a fact, not a theory. The mechanisms of evolution, and causes, are theories...but the fact that it occurs is not a theory. You saying this is no different then saying you refuse to believe the earth is round. It is literally that stuoid. Don't expect public dollars to be used to teach a stupid, factually unproved, myth.

I think if you really want to, you can talk to the principle and get out of it, but personally as a Christian, I don't have a problem with the theory of evolution. Did you know that pope John Paul II supported evolution?

You can get out of that section usually by having your parents talk to the school. But why would you not want to learn science? Even if you don't accept evolution, it is still a good idea to learn about the science you don't accept.

If you have a good solid background and are strong in your faith in God, you could handle "being taught" the theory of evolution. That doesn't mean you have to believe it. It is the people who believe in the theory of evolution that cannot "be taught" about creationism because........THE TRUTH PENETRATES ......like a double edge sword. The TRUTH exposes the LIE!!......You can do it kid......

There are a number of things to take a stand on in the name of one's faith.
In my opinion, being taught about the theory of evolution is not one of them.
So you don't "believe" in evolution. What harm will it do you to stay in class?

NO. You can go to a private religious school.
Where you will learn all about Creation. And how the earth is flat and the center of the solar system. And how Blacks are the descendants of Cain so it is OK to keep them as slaves. And women are to obey their husbands and if they don't you can whip them.
When it comes to fundies, it really does not matter if they are Christian, Muslim or Jewish, they all are a bit out of touch with reality.
