try putting him the kennel at night, not all the time just to teach him that he needs to hold it until morning

Where does the dog sleep at night? And how old is he?
Puppies are known to go in the house if they are nervous or scared. Maybe your dog is frightened at night? Try keeping him in the same room with you if he is not already.
Do you take him out right before bed? Make sure he goes before bed time.
There's a lot of reasons why he might be going in the house. It could be a training matter, too. Maybe he hasn't learned that he can't do that. Hard to say without more info.
If he's an older dog, though, and this is new behavior for him, try taking him to a vet to be sure he doesn't have a digestive problem or something else thats wrong.

Hey at nite make sure you put enough space in the crate that the dog can sleep and just rotate enough. Any more room and they will poop in the crate. I had similar problems for 1 year. Until I sectioned the crate to give the puppy just enough room to sleep and rotate her body. Now she goes into the crate to relax and sleep and she is cozier there. She used to hate the crate, now she loves it. Its her favorite place.
It takes time. It took me a year and this is my 3rd dog. I lost my buddy, a lab, to a car accident and we had to replace quickly. I wasn't ready, but the kids and wife really were sad.

The more time you spend now, the less time and happier you both are!

Good Luck!

It sounds like you might need to retrain your dog. Also his grate is prob. too big. Then again your dog might have a from of diariah or maybe parasites. You should contact your local vet. I recommend switching him to Purina dog food if you think it is a physical problem he has.
Purina is the #1 dog food on the market and it has everything they need to thrive. It might help w/ the poopin issues. Good Luck!

3 times a day is no where near as much as he needs to go out. when they are pups they are suppose to go out every 20 minutes an you should be praising him when he does his job outside. if you are doing that the dog would ask to go out. if he is doing it at night then you need to set your alarm clock and take him out at night.

he needs to be crate trained...a crate is their home and they won't go in their home..i did it with my puppy till i knew i could trust him outside of his crate during the night..don't let him eat or drink at least an hour or 2 before bed, that will help as well..make sure he goes before bed and goes as soon as you get up. but crate training is the way to go
