I will have to show this to some friends of mine. She is considering a tattoo. Maybe this might dissuade her...

Be careful what you wish for . . .

GROWN Men pass out from the pain.

.this is a good idea....why don't you do a paper on it at school and go right to the tattoo shop....tell them you are doing a paper on the tatoo;s. Don't tell them you are there to observe the PAIN agony people throwing up....it's not a picnic.

Heard that story...very sad.

Rule number 1 -
Clients should eat before tattoos

Rule number 2 -
Don't let dizzy, light-headed clients get up, even if they think they are going to puke.

Umm, any shop that does the work on a client without having them in a seated/laying/secure position etc. is bad. No shop I have ever gotten a tattoo in had me perched over a glass case either. Also, a careful tattoo artist or piercer will have you stay down if you are woozy.

Sounds like a myth, but looks like it might be true. The guy was sitting, but got up and walked around, etc.
Here is the link to the article.

anyway, this just means you need to be sure to eat something, don't get up without assistance (check your ego at the door) if you are feeling faint. Ironic,eh? Sounds like an episode from "Dead like me".

well if this is true, then it doesn't have anything to do with the tattoo itself.
anyone can fall head first into a display case and have the glass slit their throat, this just happened to occur at a tattoo shop.
the article also says that he suffered from fainting spells, this has nothing to do with tattoos.

if it is true its just bad luck. i've seen a few guys pass out from getting tats. i don't know if it's a low pain tolerance or what. one guy said he felt dizzy and needed fresh air. he got up and fell out of the door hitting his head on the cement and got a concussion.

let your friend get the tat.

I don't know if they have low pain tolerances or what...but I have several tattoos, and they didn't hurt that badly. Definitely not enough to pass out!

Why was he getting tattooed by a display case? There goes my pesky B.S.ometer again.
