It's a very nice free personal anti-virus software.

bit deffender is free and is credible (according to consumer reports magazine.) I have it on my laptop. Works pretty good. Make sure you dowload the right one. scan the site for glitches , some are fake and are actually viruses or other crap that messes with your computer. Dont rely on free virus protection though.

avg has not expired, only that version.
If you uninstall the current version that you have, then go to www.grisoft.com, you can install the newest version of avg free.

you can download another free version of avg. It is 7.5. Go to http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5
scroll to the bottom and click on download free version.

I use Ad-Aware SE Personal. It works pretty good and usually finds the viruses.
