I have a love bird, and he's very loud as well. I dont know if you are already doing this but when they scream and yell, ignore it. Dont' give them any attention. Sometimes they just want to know where you are. So you can yes (birds name) or I'm right here, and if they continue to be loud ignore it. They now your ok and right there. If you continue to give them attention (positive or negative) they will continue. Birds are reactionary animals. They do stuff b/c of the reaction they get. If they dont get a reaction they will eventually quit. Also they take on the dissposition of thier surroundings. If its very quit, they tend to be quit. If its very loud they tend to be louder. Covering the cage can sometimes help, or even relocating them to a room with low light or no light at all at night, or when you really just need them to settle down. If they've made a habbit of being loud and you've been unknowingly reinforcing this behavior it can take much longer to break. But break it will. Good luck

Spraying water will only anger him more. Cover the cage with a blanket or towel. When he stops take it off. Repeat as necessary.
Remember they are like 3 year olds need attention. If they cant get it by being quiet and cute they will get it by squawking like all hell broke loose. good luck to the players...

These little sweethearts are the most lively, independent and yes, loud birds. Good luck, because there is not much you can do.

my boyfriends love birds were usualy noisy when they wanted to be alone which was most of the time.. so we'd close the cover over their cage.. my mom had a problem with hers she had several pairs and she had to do the same they were so noisy so she'd cover them up with a sheet so they couldn't see anything and they were happier and so was she.. lol

Earplugs for you which can be purchased at the drug store. I cannot stand the sound of my cats licking themselves, and the earplugs do the trick.

My cockatiel gets loud too. When I can't stand it anymore, I get a spray bottle of water. Right when he's screaming, I spray it gently, but suddenly at him. Then he quiets down.
You should try that too.
