I'm running XP Professional. Last night I went to click something and accidentally dragged my taskbar up, so that now it takes up two strips of space. This is annoying when I'm browsing or watching video, but I can't seem to make it go back to normal. Please help.

I already tried moving it back down with the double arrow. It makes it bigger or hides it completely, but won't put it back to normal. The taskbar itself is not locked.

Ok heres what you need to do, it seems like you task bar split the quick launch icons and the task buttons in to two lines. to fix this move your pointer over one of the sets of small dots between the start button and the quick launch icons. now try to drag them onto the same line as the task button. They should split into two sections split in the middle of the screen. at this point drag your task bar back to one line and then adjust them back to the spacing you like.

Its a little tricky but try it a few times and you'll get it.

if you place your mouse pointer on the very top edge of the task bar it should turn into a double headed arrow. Once that happens, you should be able to drag it back down to only one line.

To prevent that from happening again, you can right click on the taskbar, and select "lock the taskbar".

Right click on your taskbar and make sure "Lock the taskbar" doesn't have a tick beside it. If it does click on "Lock the taskbar" now you should be able move it where ever you like. Once you have it set where you want it right click on it and turn "Lock the taskbar" back on.

You should be able to click on the upper edge of the task bar and move it up or down. You may have to right click on it and temporaroly diable some of the features if the bar is too full.
