I find it hard to believe that car dealers are now just sticking to the MSRP price and not really willing to move on the price. I live in British Columbia, Canada. I am after a Hyundai Tuscon GLS V6.
Thanks.

Don't buy from that weasel.

Have you also encountered the "dealer add-on items" scam? (Items that don't come with the car from the factory...but are added on by the dealer just to jack the price up).

These add-ons are typically WAY overpriced. Items that you either don't want or need....like "undercoating" "pin striping" and "security systems". They typically overprice these items then, to set the hook, the dealer may come down a few dollars on these items to make it appear that you're getting a deal, and that he's negotiating in good faith. BEWARE....You're gonna get screwed. These dealers may even add a second MSRP list in the window right next to the first one. They usually do this on popular cars or where that particular dealer owns ALL the dealerships of that particular car company in a wide area.

Walk away, Horicon, don't deal with that guy. There are other Hyundai dealers around.

Car salesmen drool when they see a young kid, or a single woman come in alone. Teach them a lesson that you won't be treated like his. Do yourself a favor and read this before you go to buy a new car.

why? they're junk. after the warranty is up you are left with no resale or trade value.

Don't know about Canada.... but in the US, $2000 discount is the norm.
