I believe that the word is too great to be written down on paper such as the Bible. The Christian Bible, the Muslim Koran, the Jewish Torah, the Hindu Vedas, the Buddhist Dharma, are mere relflections of this "word". Think of a lake sorrounded by trees, the trees are pure in form but its reflection in the water is always moving and distorted. Thats how holy books have distorted the "word". I believe the word cannot be contained on paper. I believe the "word" is universal law. The "word" is the very thing that sustains all that exist and doesn't exist. The "word" is everywhere. The "word" is in the rock. The "word" is in the sky. The "word" is in all lifeforms. The "word" is in all of the galaxies and stars and planets and empty space. The "word" is all, or that ever will be. The "word" is the beginning and the end, and the infinity. The "word" just "IS". Neither existing nor not existing. From this "word" all comes into being and all go back to nothing.

But we Christians know who the Word is.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

I read this article a while ago, loved it! The fact is that as archaeologists and historians discover older and older biblical texts and translators are more assiduous in their work, they will be discovering minor (mostly) and major (occasionally) mistakes in the currently extant translation we have. Given that entire dogmas have been built around both inadvertent and deliberate mistranslations, the more accurately we can know the original texts, the better our theology and understanding will become. And I expect that a lot of people are not going to like that. Blessings on your Journey!

If you take the word "word" in the Greek (o logos) - and follow what the Greek philosophers meant when they used the term (which seems to be the way that you are using it) - then - yes, the common Protestant terminology for "the word" is grossly inadequate.

Thank God for the Orthodox, the Catholics and decent theologians who study much more than "tha' bah-buhl" when they do their studies of the Faith Once Delivered.

The "Word" is the Laws Of Physics, that
interface with energy bits called "quarks"
to form creation.
The forces are not an energy form.
Energy forms are not the Force.
Time and space are merely by-products
of this creation process.

Jesus Christ is the Word.

1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

I agree. To write "The Word" onto paper, however, makes it a sacred text, which, these days, is disrespected so often that my bones shudder at the thought.
