Apollo Creed

`All of Apollo's championship fights were scheduled for the 15 round distance. Championship fights did not convert from 15 rounds to 12 rounds until 1987.

`The Dancing Destroyer/The Master of Disaster/The King of Sting/The Count of Monte Fisto

`Apollo Creed’s final professional record was 47-1 (46 knockouts). The fight with Drago was an exhibition match so therefore had no impact on his record. His only defeats were the loss to Balboa in Rocky II, which cost him his championship, and the loss to Drago in Rocky IV, which cost him his life.

He was survived by his wife, Mary Anne, and their two children

Ivan Drago

`Ivan Drago was supposedly a 1980 Olympic Gold Medalist. The 1984 games were boycotted by the USSR.

`He measures 196 cm (6 ft 5 in) tall and weighing 118 kg (261 pounds).

`Ivan Drago's amateur record at the time of the Rocky Balboa match was 100-0.

`The Ivan Drago versus Rocky Balboa match was never an officially sanctioned fight, but boxing record keepers still keep the result of the bout on both fighter's professional records because it complied with professional boxing rules, it was scheduled for 15 rounds, and was a relatively significant event.

`Ivan Drago was permitted to resume his career as an amateur boxer after his loss to Rocky Balboa because of the special circumstance that he could not officially turn pro in the USSR.

`Ivan Drago never lost an amateur fight.

`Ivan Drago turned professional after the fall of the Soviet Union and accumulated an impressive 31-1 (31 KO) record while also winning a portion of the Heavyweight title. He never unified the title or fought the very top contenders (as a pro) because of promotional politics.

`His only defeat was at the hands of Rocky Balboa as a pro or an amateur fighter.

James "Clubber" Lang

`Clubber Lang's professional record before the first Rocky Balboa match was 32-0.

`Clubber Lang scored a 2nd round KO over Rocky Balboa to win the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship.

`Clubber Lang lost the championship to Rocky Balboa on his first title defense via 3rd round KO.

`Clubber Lang has won the championship twice in his career.

`His final record stands at 70-2 (64 KO).

Tommy "Machine" Gunn

`Tommy Gunn won the Heavyweight title with a first round knockout of Union Cane.

`Tommy Gunn's final record stands at 46-3-1 (40 KO).

`Tommy Gunn has had a roller coaster life both in and out of the ring with a couple of prison stints and several lows and highs in his boxing career. Though his boxing career may be viewed as a success compared to most, Tommy is still viewed as a disappointment when compared to the potential he possessed.

Gunn is slightly taller than Balboa, and has stats very similar to "Clubber" Lang fighting in a similar manner without any real strategy. However, Tommy is not as quick or tenacious in the ring and is slightly inexperienced. These are both Rocky's keys to beating him.

Taking this all into account. I think Apollo Creed beats them all in his prime. When he lost to Rocky it was because he didn't take Rocky seriously and was aging with out realizing it, like Roy Jones Jr did. If you watch the end of part two, the Rocky rematch should have been considered a draw. Because Apollo was on his butt, but Rocky's weight was supported by the rope at the count of 10. He wasn't supporting it indepentantly. When he lost to Drago, he was again cocky. This time because Drago had no expieriance as a professional. Before he fought Rocky he had a 46 -0 record... ALL KO's. If the Rocky rematch were ruled a draw, he would have mixed it up with Lang. Even though Apollo was older, he would out smart Lang Ali style. Late round KO for Creed. But "Clubber" Lang would have beaten Tommy Gunn. He was everything Gunn was times 2. That would have been a short brutal Quarry/Shavers type fight. Creed would have made Gunn look like a joke. I feel that Drago could have beaten all of the fighters (except Creed) very easily. He went 15rds. against Balboa, Lang didn't last 3. I hope you had fun reading this, I had fun writing it.

Apollo Creed was the best. Rocky only beat him the second time they fought cause Apollo was getting older at the time. Apollo was one of the greatest fighters in movie history. Clubber Lang SUCKED! Tommy Gunn was a wimp. Now Ivan Drago, now that was a bad ***!!!

Clubber Lang would have smashed both Tommy Gunn and Apollo. Apollo would have beaten Tommy Morrison...I mean, Gunn.

Gunn was never any good. He has aids now. Apollo would have beat lang because rocky used his style to beat lang. Clubber would have knocked tommy gunn into next week.

1. A prime Ivan Drago with actual pro experience, assuming he hadn't been executed by Gorbechev and the Kremlin after embarrassing the U.S.S.R. and disrespecting the entire polit bureau. (probably nearly invincible)

2. A prime Apollo Creed is able to tactically outclass:

3. Clubber Lang

and a big drop off to:

4. Tommy Gunn, who would probably get murdered by any of the above three fighters.

Keep in mind the ages of the fighters. Gunn was the last introduced, so he was the youngest of the three. So in fantasy land Gunn would win, and Lang would easily beat Apollo.

apollo in his prime would of beat lang, gunn, and tarver.....the only reason drago beat apollo was because apollo was getting older and slower. but a younger apollo would have won a lop sided ud against drago. lang would destroy gunn, i mean come on gunn got his *** kicked by a washed up fighter outside of a bar after winning the belt...that would be like the super bowl champ colts losing to a bunch of drunks in a pick up football game.

r.i.p. apollo creed

guys get a clue
apollo trained rocky to beat clubber not because apollo could himself beat clubber...but rocky had the worlds Hardest hit....recall his words to the commentators when asked how he previews the fight
well strength goes to the challenger....but the worlds hardest hit would have to go to roclky balboa u know i know about that
also will add that clubber was NEVER cut not once by rocky....that says alot....he cuts apollo...he cuts drago...he cuts dixon....he cuts gunn....he never cuts clubber....he had to duck dodge bob and weave langs punches as he couldnt go toe to to with him

apollos exact words.....whats the matter rock...u thought I was bad this chump will kil u

clubber hits harder and is stronger then both apollo and rocky so therefore with his punches would not only cut drago but clubbers skills and merciless ruthless relentless brutsality would knock drago to the canvas

I gotta agree with most of you that Apollo was a straight DOG in the ring he was classy skilled smooth but had some serious hands!!! In his Prime YES he beats them all and HE PUNISHED ROCKY in Rocky Two... He didn't take him seriously in the first fight but he beat the brakes off him in the 2nd fight... IMO Apollo brought that "Eye of the Tiger" to the Saga.... I always wanted to see him and Mr T. Tho.... Mannnnn... Lol!!! #Epic
