If you do a Q&A acne search on Answers you will find many over the counter products & home remedies that people found did not work or made it worse. Main cause of our skin disorders is harsh chemicals, ingredients in these products. Then we use more products containing equally harmful ingredients to try to fix it!
This is tried and tested, NATURAL, safe and low cost, effective way to rid yourself PERMANENTLY of the problem. It's an answer that I gave a short time ago and Asker responded that treatment was working after a few days(see my profile - BEST ANSWER )
To get a totally blemish free healthy skin the best way is using an organic oil, or any natural oil - coconut and olive oil are good -and massage face with it using quite a strong, vigorous motion - that part is important for treatment to work - once a day (best at night as will make face flushed). You will find you can make it more vigorous as you progress. Skin is always renewing, the vigorous massaging invigorates skin and hastens a spot and scar free new skin to emerge overtime. Initially, the skin has to adjust and if soreness or other reactions happen - the skin might expel poisons that need to be expelled - then stop and resume when you can. You have to find the pace that works for you - it's different for every person. Stick with it & in a week or so you will see an improvement and overtime you will have a completely spot and scar, blemish free, healthy, vibrant skin. Also permanently rids skin of all other kinds of skin problems(even oily skin). You will not need any other treatment ever again.and you will find that you don't need to moisterize. Only unhealthy skins need constant moisterizing.
Also if you have pimple scars use contents of Vitamin E CAPSULES - apply directly to scars. I know for a fact that when someone has face surgery or a face lift doctors tell patients to do precisely this to hasten healing and minimize scarring.

I have had the same problem for really long. I have tried everything that's out there. Now I don't use any acne creams. I just wash my face with a 2% salicylic acid facewash, moisturize with an oil-free, non comedogenic, and hypoallergenic moisturizer during the day, and after washing my face at night, I put rose water on my face [wipe my face with it and go to sleep]. And drink 8 glasses of water per day. Acne creams made my acne worse. Now my skin is okay :) If you want to know the moisturizer and face wash names, you can e-mail me :)

depends on what you consider to be homemade. Witch Hazel can be a great toner to use. Some also brew a very strong black (or robios tea) and use it that way as well.

People always mention toothpaste, but one also needs to realize that while it may dry out the offending acne... it can also create more because it clogs the pores. Good advice for some, bad for others.

You know what, I don't have any but I can tell you the FASTEST, most EFFECTIVE, and CHEAPEST way to handle it is to get a big tube of HYDROCORTISONE Cream at Walmart the extra strength one 1% I think it is and wash your face then pat dry and use the cream at nite before bed all over your face or back or where ever, then when you wake up wash again and reapply like a moisturizer, it will dissappear. Just keep it up you will have a super clear complexion! You will notice a difference the very next morning...the store brand is just fine just make sure its 1% or more.

I put vaseline with aloe creme on reddish sores or acne about twice a day. When I do this I just stay home and watch t.v. so the lotion takes effect. Sometimes I put it all over my face, it does'nt hurt and it does help the rest of your face.

Wash your face in baby shampoo if it is really bad. If it is one or two spots dap liquid hand soap on them two or three times per day. That will usually clear them up in 24 hours, or at least make a noticeable difference!

put tooth paste on your zits( paste, not the gel) , and that will help to dry them out. It works. I've read it in several madazines, and I've tried it myself. Alcohol also helps to dry them. especially after they pop. (gross, lol)
