Are Cyclopses real??

Since they dug up Troy don't that mean the rest of the odyssey is true??

The notion of cyclopses are believed to have come from the skeletal remains of elephants. Elephant skulls have a large gaping hole in the middle of their forehead which is covered in cartilage. Ancient people seeing this believed it to be the place where an eye was from.
