Symptoms of hypothyroidism are; weigh gain, difficulty losing weight with diet & exercise, low body temp, cold feet and hands, low blood pressure, fatigue, vertigo, headache, slow heart rate, depression, dry skin, dry thinning hair, sensitivity to light, thinning eyebrows, IBS with constipartion, feeling of fullness in the throat, voice may deepen, goiter may or may not be present, and muscle and joint aches.
Diagnosis is usually by a morning TSH. Unfortunately the TSH doesn't always catch it, so if you still have symptoms you either need to retst every year or get a Free T4, Free T3, and antibody at the same time as the morning TSH. I say morning because TSH changes throughout the day. It's highest while we sleep, so that's why its best to test first thing in the morning.

you will be tired, have dry skin, constipation and just feel very slow perhaps a puffy face and eyes. I have had it before. Your TSH will be elevated in blood work too.
