Yes, they can be anonymous, or if you want follow up info you can give them your info, either way the person you report won't be told who reported them.

Yes, some people call as revenge, however if you get reported falsely then when they come to check they will see that it was a false report.

Yes - they can be anonymous and YES people do file complaints against people they don't like to be vendictive. I've seen both!
However - the complaints that are made just to be vendictive I'm sure are far less than the true ones. And even though they have to be investigated - if there's nothing negative going on in the home, the case will just be dismissed.

You have the option to remain anonymous. Or you can give them your information. It is entirely up to you.

ALL calls have to be investigated. and YES, people can call on other people just to be mean. I have seen it happen. But if the person has done nothing wrong, then it will be briefly investigaed and closed right away. BUT that person's name will stay on file for a certian lenght of time. I guess, in theory, someone could really be tarnished if they had more than one false call made against them.

Dang straight. Children's Services has to be careful about that.

At the same time, sometimes people who don't want to be involved can tip the authorities off as to an abusive situation, so anonymous complaints are needed for that purpose.

i've got study far too many circumstances the place toddlers faraway from their mum and dad have been placed onto foster domicile after foster domicile of abusers. It breaks my heart, and somebody should be held to blame for it. i'm specific there are a number of departments that are corrupt, and greater involved approximately retaining their books balanced than genuine concern for toddlers from stricken residences.

I don't know but if a person files a false complaint they make themselves liable for slander charges if the report is unjustified.

Your name is not generally given to the person you make the complaint against. However it is not private from investigators and police who may need to speak to you. In addition you may be required to appear in court in which case the person has the right to confront their accuser.

I speak in general terms, local laws may differ.

Unfortunatly yes.....It's a system that you can accuse anyone of child endangerment or abuse whether it's true or not....it's a weapon of choice among people who dislike each other.
BTW.....the complaint remains on record forever....regardless of the outcome of the investigation.
