No...washing strawberries would cause them to grow fungus, and they would not be able to sell them...this is why there have been ecoli outbreaks associated with strawberries, people neglect to wash them properly. you should store them in a cool, dry place until ready to use, and only wash them thoroughly right before use

I'm not so sure they are - strawberries absorb moisture and if they were washed, they'd mush up.
When you buy fresh strawberries, wipe them carefully and thoroughly with a damp towel.

even if the name was "already washed strawberries". i would still wash them. you can't trust some else to remove chemicals, insects and soil from your fruit.
