Isn't God sending His son to this rotten, sinful earth to cleanse the world of sin by torturing him seem a little like a silly fantasy. How does 12 hours of torture eradicate sin?Couldn't God just snap his fingers and make Anything happen? And this freewill theory is supposed to show how much God loves us.HUH? It just gives other people the right to mess with you and destroy your life with no interference from above. How does living in a cruel and unfair world supposed to make anyone want to worship God?

well.. everything you are talking (or typing) about is from the bible and its corresponding religions. you should consider dropping the connection between the idea of god and religion. because god and religion are TWO different things or concepts.
god will (or will not) exist no matter what any religious group says.

but to answer your other question... i think the MEN who wrote the bible incorporated jesus life in it, specifically the part of crucifixion, because most people cant take leaps of faith. (most) people need physical proof, or else they dont believe. by including jesus in the bible, it offers SOME physical proof that there is a god. there IS actual proof (even now) to support that jesus was a real person vs. unreal.
also, as you say, god COULD (according to this faith) have snapped his fingers and made everything happen, but again people need physical proof AND god in the bible is shown to be a very vengeful figure. jesus however, was portrayed as an all loving person. thus showing that this religion offers unconditional love to its followers.

and about your questions about free will... yes i really do have to say i think its a blessing and it does indeed show us god's love. because how can we learn and experience without free will? why would we even exist with out free will? god would just make all our choices then...
and yes people make bad choices. and thats fine. that is how we learn and gain strength. without bad we couldnt identify what is good.
and why would god interfere with that? we all have the power to make peace here on earth... yet we chose to kill, hate, and destroy one another. everything that happens on earth is our own doing. what kind of god would "save" and do everything for us? what would be our purpose then?
