I believe that God made the heavens and the earth and all therein. I believe that Jesus Christ was His only begotten son, pure and without sin, who lived on the earth, taught, healed, was executed, and on the third day rose from the dead, having taken the punishment for our sin upon Himself, that we might know eternal life. I believe He did this out of divine love. In short, I am a Christian. Why? I really couldn't explain, except to say that I was called to Him, and am grateful with all my heart. I wasn't raised that way. My mother took me to church maybe half a dozen times when I was a kid. We did not read the Bible at home, nor were we encouraged to pray. So you see, it was not "indoctrination". At the age of 18 I was called, and there has been no other way for me since. Proven wrong? Well... I am not the sharpest pencil in the box. I am not educated enough to argue from scientific viewpoints, and I rather feel that trying to prove God scientifically to nonbelievers is a bit like trying to prove to a blind person that the sky is blue. I have a good vocabulary from a lifetime of reading, otherwise my mind is pretty ordinary. So I know a lot of the atheists on this forum are smarter than I am. But they could never prove God wrong to me. I've felt Him, walked with Him, and sometimes had no one else to rely on. Always He has defended me and brought me throuogh adversity. So there is no way anyone could ever prove to me I am wrong for believing in and loving Him.

I believe in the Buddha's teachings, because they are logical and following his guidelines is an easy way to lead a pure and happy life. No, I wouldn't believe something else because for me, it is a way of living.. it has nothing to do with the afterlife or the creation of the universe. I'm just concerned with my life now and how to make the best of it.

I'm Buddhist, based on years of analytical study of various religions, the history of religions and so on... it's the most logical and interesting I've found and I'm sticking with it. I would believe something else if someone could prove me wrong, but alas my challenges went unsatisfied, and finally I realized that it's because it IS so logical.... Buddhism hasn't been refuted in thousands of years... not really, so I doubt anyone will prove me wrong.

I believe that the human mind transcends space and time; that there are sentient beings beyond the physical realm, and that myth, beauty and synchronicity have something to do with the meaning of it all.

I believe my proof over your proof.

My religion is Asatru. Why? Because it's the only one that fits me and it feels more honorable and natural then some of the other religions I've studied/practiced in the past.

No, because it's not about proof...it's about faith. I believe in God...not because someone proved it to me but because I have faith and in that faith I've come to know God...and the strength of that relationship is amazing and beyond proof.
