To learn a language is not easy, but you can learn faster if you put your effort in it. Buy a book in Spanish, like a novel, and buy a dictionary, an English to Spanish one. While you read, mark all the words in Spanish that you don't know and look for them in the dictionary. This sound tedious, but with time you will have to look less and less in the dictionary at the time that you increase your vocabulary. Find a grammar book of Spanish to get familiarized with the order of the words in the sentences, and see TV in Spanish (to get familiarized with the day-to-day phrases). A faster way of learning, is moving to a country in which you have to talk Spanish daily.
I have learned English by doing something like this (yet I still learning)

First figure out which country holds the title for being able to speak it properly. Seems South Americans think Mexicans don't speak Spanish correctly. Alot of conflict but South Americans are reputed to not speak Spanish correctly according to people in Spain. First figure out this futility then pick the country you will prefer to use as a model for Spanish. Alot of snobs in many Latin countries think their way is the best way and most are wrong.
