Jesus never says to abandon your family.
Jesus is talking to HIS DISCIPLES.
Unto Peter, and "...ye which have followed me." -Matthew 19:28
He is talking past tense, The next verse clearly shows:
"...every one that hath..."
This is not a call for people to abandon their families.
The Samuel reference is from historical Israel, that is just what it is, history.
Psalms 137:9 Is a reference to the fall of Babylon.
Psalms 135:8 is a REFERENCE to the Exodus story.
Psalms 136:10 ANOTHER REFERENCE to Exodus.
Kings has no such reference.
Jesus in fact evoked special protection for children, in:
Matthew 10:42 (millstone rather than offend), 18:6-14 " it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that ONE of these little ones should perish", Mark 9:42 (millstone.), Luke 17:2.(millstone 3rd Gospel)
The strongest words are used for someone who was to abandon a family:
But if any provide not for their own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an INFIDEL. -1Timothy 5:8
That's directly contrary to what you say. I think kill (abortion) and abandon is diametrically opposed to provide.

Words taken out of their context without considering the events leading up will change, alter, or distort their intended meaning. (whether you like it or not)
Just as you can find these passages to support your ideas others can find some to support theirs. Some Christians who believe abortion is wrong find reasons other than those mentioned in the bible. (some only rely on the commandment about not murdering--they believe that abortion is equal to murder)
But the best point was made above---let others believe as they will. (or how can you expect to be allowed your opinions) Freedom of thought, opinion, speech is for all.
You sound so angry but you directed it at all Christians who believe abortion is wrong rather than at the ones who try to shove their beliefs on others. That is wrong.

Now that you have that off your chest, do you feel better? Are you busy looking for more scripture to justify your lack of faith?

Everyone has the right to be pro life if that is what they believe.
What they do not have is the right to do is make that decision for me. No one should be allowed to force religious dogma on this country through our laws.
The US Supreme Court ruled on this and no idiotic religious dogma is going to change that.

The Christian god is only pro life when Christians can twist, or ignore, parts of the bible to suit their own purposes.

You won't get an intelligent answer to this one. Either "It's taken out of context" or "they were sinners" or some other crap.
