My grandmother use to make this jello recipe back in the 1950's that contained a layered mixture of lime jello, peaches and cream cheese but she forgot how to make it. Supposedly, it was delicious but she refuses to "wing-it" not knowing the exact measurment and all the ingredients. Has anybody ever heard of this recipe and if so, how do you make it?

Cream Topped Peaches

1 3 ounce package lime, mixed fruit or strawberry Jello
2 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water
1 8 ounce can sliced peaches
2 teaspoons lime or lemon juice
1 3 ounce package cream cheese, softened or 1/2 cup sour cream

Dissolve Jello, sugar and salt in boiling water. Drain peaches, reserving syrup. Add enough water to syrup to make one cup. Stir syrup mixture and lime juice into gelatin. Gradually blend 1/2 cup gelatin into cheese. Pour into an 8 x 4 x 2 loaf pan or a 1 quart mold. Chill until set but not firm. Meanwhile, chill remaining gelatin until very thick. Stir in peaches. Spoon into mold. Chill until firm. Cut in squares or unmold. Makes about 3 cups or 6 servings.

Could it use orange Jell-o? Because I have a recipe that uses orange jello, but otherwise sounds like what she wants.

Peaches 'n Creme Pie

1-1/2 cups finely crushed vanilla wafers
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 pkg. (4-serving size) Orange Jell-o
3/4 cup boiling water
2 cups ice cubes (not cold water)
1-1/2 cups thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping
1 cup chopped peeled fresh peaches

COMBINE crumbs and butter. Press firmly onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate.

STIR gelatin into boiling water until completely dissolved. Add ice cubes. Stir until gelatin is slightly thickened; remove any unmelted ice. Add whipped topping; stir with wire whisk until well blended. Gently stir in peaches.

REFRIGERATE 15 min. or until gelatin mixture is thick enough to mound; spoon into crust. Refrigerate 3 hours or until set. Store leftover pie in refrigerator.

Serves 6-8
