I kid you not. Yesterday I was called a liar for stating this fact.
King James VI & I of Great Britain
had sponsored the project, and the translators appropriately dedicated
the new Bible to him. At this point in his own personal life, King James had already been involved in a love affair with one man, the Duke of Lennox, which provoked a rebellion in Scotland; his current lover in England was a young man whose special relationship with the king would earn him the Earldom of Somerset. By 1615, however, Somerset's fortunes declined and James succeeded in luring his most famous lover, George Villiers, later Duke of Buckingham, into bed. What are we to make of these relationships between King James and his so-called "favorites?" Many earlier historians treated the subject with shock, disdain, and denial. Only recently has the subject been treated more seriously and fairly by scholars such as Caroline Bingham, Jonathan Goldberg Roger Lockyer, and David Bergeron.

LOL - man - if you believe everything you read on the Internet without checking reliable sources that would back it up - then I could write some garbage that would really mess with your head and view of history.
The Gay agenda has taken a page from the Arab Muslim Mullahs, Muftis and Imams in rewriting history to suit their own ideas. So now King James is gay, George Washington was gay, Abraham Lincoln was gay, and all the founding fathers had gay orgies ONLY in the sense that there are pro-gay elements out there very busy trying to warp history, blur the lines between reality and fantasy. Guilible people will follow along, not check the reliable sources and keep this garbage flowing.
I fully expect gays to one day join the Muslim religious leaders and declare the holocaust never happened. Changing history to try and force people into accepting twisted ideas to achieve their agenda. That in itself is as sick as it is sad.
LET ME ADD...,
If by some chance King James were gay, or even involved in sex with animals - it changes nothing about the Bible. He didnt write it, he did not translate it. Over the years countless scholars have went over the ancient manuscripts and the Bible for the most part is in tact - considering the difficulties in translating the ancient languages into English. There is only something like 3 to 6% potential for error, and thats not bad at all.

Of all the people in the world who I have cared about, King James is really pretty low on the list.

Most of your respondents, including myself, said they already knew that. So one or two didn't agree with you. does it matter? It is a question of history more than religion, I think.
But why do you feel that you need to harp on it so much? Do you think it makes a difference about religion?
There were a number of kings of England who were dirty old men. It seems that absolute power can be very bad for people.

Even if he was, and I say IF, what's the point here? We haven't really been interested in this enough to read or verify if it's a credible source. But since this has been posted 2 or 3 times by you/someone already, maybe we could just skip it and move to more interesting questions, what you say?

There are probably a lot of prominent gays in history. I don't think that HE interfered in the translations of the Texts of the Bible, as he delegated authority to a special Crown council in order to have the work done. In fact, it was commissioned before him, and only completed then.

I don't care whether King James was gay or not,and honestly,I don't know why anyone would be interested in his sexuality. It has no bearing on anything.

not surprising, considering he left the story of King David and Johnathon in his version of the bible--I guess the intended message was "It's okay to be gay if you're the king"
