I dont have any buttons on tope of the camera. I have a lighting like picture & a ok and share, review,delete,menu and that is it.

click to the movie cam icon and just click the shot button once and it will start recording. Then click it again to stop recording. The only problem with using the recording/movie feature is it takes up a lot of memory and using more battery.

YOu didn't specify what model. The knob on top might have a little movie camera icon, but it's unclear if the unit will have sound or be silent.
You generally need above a CD33 to get sound. You generally need above a 533 to get full screen video. You generally need a camera newer than 2 years old to get more than 30 seconds of video at at ime.

Turn the knob on top to the furthest setting. There should be a little camcorder icon. Then hold the picture button to take the video, and stop holding it when you are done taking a video.
