Oaky lets get real here! You want to relax kick back and not have to spend money. I looked at some of the other answers and they all require money.
Try some of these ideas.
* Run yourself a bath with candles some wine, a book and just relax.
* Renovate a room just for you where baby and hubby can't go.
* Gardening
* Read a good book.
Good luck. Just wait till they start school. You'll have so much time to yourself.

When my kids were very young I would let my hubby watch the kids for an entire weekend just once a year and I would go visit some good girl friends from school. This meant a 3 hour drive but then I would sleep in and rejuvinate with old friends. It was lovely.

Having a little corner of the house that is strictly adult (if possible) even just a comfy chair with a side table and a little lamp where you can sit and relax and have a cup of tea and read a good (short) book, really helped me. Someplace I could sit for a minute without toys and that was just a place to sit and relax. There are some very peaceful moments at that time in the evening when your baby has gone to sleep.

Then start letting your kids help you with chores around the house very very early. Make it fun for them. They can match up socks - they can help putting pots and pans away. This is a little tough at first because it does take a little longer and clothes get rolled up instead of folded but the reward comes in when they are in first and second grade when they become more independant in helping around the house.

Finally, there is no law that says the child rules the TV during the day. You don't have to watch the wiggles for hours on end. (when my kids were little it was Barney and after 30 minutes of Barney - well 30 minutes was enough, that's all I can politely say). Read out loud to your children. One of my favorite scenes from a movie with a baby in it is from 3 men and a baby where Tom Selleck is reading sports illustrated to little Mary. When he is questioned about reading SI he tells the other adult that it doesn't matter what you read to a baby but it is the tone of your voice that matters. And actually studies have shown that kids benefit from exposure to a wider vocabulary.

Listen to music you enjoy. And most of all take a deep breath and just enjoy your time with your darling baby. It is a cliche but it does go by so quickly. My darling baby is now almost 18 and getting ready to move on to college. It seems like just a few days ago he was flinging gerber banana across the room. And now I have plenty of time for Me time.

I have survived the diapers, AND cartoons however now I'm stuck with running the here and there, and watching Hannah Montana, Josh and Drake and many other tween shows. I live for bedtime and my books and tea, I also have a military hubby who was deployed the WHOLE summer of 05 and will be again this summer, I want to visit margaritaville some days but that is no option when I am the only adult here. You WILL survive and live to give advice to new mommies in 10 years. Naptime and bedtime belong to you as long as the house is not grungy take the time to read or watch some silly soap.

Oh girl don't I feel you on that one! I'm long past the diaper stage, but the cartoons and snacks leave me drained at the end of the day.

My favorite way of having my "Mommy" time is to come to Yahoo answers and pass along what I know. Sometimes I'll read, play a computer game, talk on the phone....drink a cocktail (lol). It's hard to get out to hang with other grown ups....especially those who don't have kids. They just can't relate to our daily grind, ya know?

Someone needs to come up with a mom's club (like a local organization of a Parents Without Partners kind of deal)where the moms can get out with other moms and cut loose. Just my personal opinion though.

I like to go shopping or get a pedicure if I can. Getting away from the house altogether is the best way to get me time. Even an alone trip to the grocery store can be a blessing. When all else fails, then kids are off to bed by 8pm and I get to watch a couple of hours of grown up tv and some hot tea.

A hot bath and a good book can work wonders.Especially if you don't get much of a chance to get out of the house.What I like to do is put the little darlings to bed, light some candles run a nice hot bath with lots of my favorite bubbles and a glass of wine with a good book. I feel much better after.

I love getting a pedicure and manicure. It doesn't last, but oh well. I also like to get a cup of coffee and cruise the local bookstore. Or go to a movie, if you can get away that long. My husband took my daughter to a thing for an afternoon, and I had the whole day to myself, and I saw a movie - it was wonderful!!!

Taking a candle lit bath with some relaxing bubbles always helps me. Or sometimes I take myself out to lunch etc. Being a mother of 3 and one on the way I totally understand where your coming from. Its very hard to find "me" time. Good luck!

I read novels while I nurse, does that count?

I take the dog to the park every day for 1-2 hours and talk to adults.... with my toddler? But most of the adults have no kids or grown kids so we don't discuss kids.
