...spouse or life partner? I'm sure there's a romantic answer to the big 'how we met' question. But I think that in the beginning, interest (no matter how vain) does play a part as a reason for selecting a partner. How is it that people call it unconditional love? We all have made mistakes and have flaws of our own. But everything always comes afloat. There's more than one question here: Are they denying the truth about meeting each other to live in a dream world? Do they lower the standards of their convictions? Are there real conditions? Does 'change' take a part in all this? Because change can destroy a relationship.

Another word that comes to mind is acceptance.

Here's a thought!!! You never hear an old couple say: "I wanted to get in his/her pants"

The average women today before marriage has had probably about 87 prior sex partners, 5 shackups, 29 one night stands, 19 certified bad boys including 3 ex-cons, and probabably done it in more positions than Gumby, so obviously when she finds "Mr Right" - usually around age 33, she's usually has a high turn-on threshold for her cherished big "chemistry"

Before the beginning of the sex revolution (early to mid 1960's) the average woman had an average of 0 to .03 prior partners - and her Mr Right whom she typically married at about age 20 - would generally pretty much do it for her - so long as was honest, had a clean shirt and a job.

So those old stories that we sometimes hear - are probably true.

Think you were hurt. Of course lust brings us together. It's gushy and hot. I want some right now. But what is everlasting is the patience that we afford our changing relationship with our partner. Did you have patience?

it was not sex that kept me interested --- from the moment we met (and there are romantic elements there) we knew we were meant for each other and i do feel unconditional love for her

as an older person i would have no problems saying i want to get into her pants --- she is a beautful sexy lady who happens to have a beautiful soul
