Not all programs are compatible with Vista right now every few weeks they make adjustments and release updates to remedy that problem. There is a tool which I will link under references that you can install and run and it will tell you if all of you components are compatible with Vista or not. Make sure you have all USB items you use plugged in. I have a Blackberry and that is the only thing Vista can't support for me right now. So I haven't upgraded. Also if you are a gamer the graphics support isn't up to par yet.

This is very true I have windows vista installed on my computer. And now I have to wait for a driver update for my printer. I ran the windows vista advisor first before even buying windows vista and everything came back with all green check marks so you can't go by that. As far as a firewall working I have McAfee after installing windows vista I had to uninstall and reinstall because the operating system changed but my firewall works. As far as games I can not play any yahoo games at this time.. I wish I would of waited for about 6 months before installing.

Yes, for instance you can't find a firewall that works with Vista at this time. You're stuck with the one provided by Microsoft.

The answer is to wait a couple of months. You'll see more and more programs become compatible with Vista. Maybe we'll notice the "wow" then.

Hi armo,

Yes it is true not all applications will run on Vista. Most will but there are some that will not.

Also, a lot of hardware will not work with Vista because not all drivers are ready. Some older hardware may never have drivers for Vista.

yes, many programs will not run on vista right now and no Microsoft cannot fix it, the companies who made the program will have to make it work with it. Some printers and mouses will not even work with it.

i don't understand approximately "quickly," however the final standards are truly the comparable, different than 7 runs much greater effective on them. There could often times be some older hardware or incompatible utility (like antivirus) which could throw somewhat hitch into issues. yet in many situations speaking if your pc runs Vista ok it incredibly is going to likely be waiting to run 7.
