preferably less than $150 a night and no shared bathroom. It doesn't matter what part of NYC it's in, but I need one that is in the city, not outside the city

Rooms at the Belvedere start at $165, but you can usually get a better rate from PriceLine or Orbitz or Hotels.com - This is a three-star hotel - spotless, great staff, located in the Theatre District and every room has a coffee maker, microwave and fridge - I always have my out of town guests stay here - and no one has ever had a single complaint.

There are five Apple Core hotels in Manhattan - they are inexpensive and the New York Times says they are all very clean (they are also in good areas)

It's cheap, it's in a great location, but don't even consider the Hotel Pennsylvania - mice and bed bugs - ugh.

There are some nice, inexpensive places on the Upper West Side and that is a great neighborhood to stay ine.

The Wellington might be worth a check, but also check out the Hotel Pennsylvania in Midtown across from Madison Square Gardens at 7th Avenue and 34th Street, its usually around $130.00 a night and in a great location as Penn Station is right under Madison Square Gardens. Also try the Hotel New Yorker, its not too far from Hotel Pennsylvania.

Check out The Wellington which is on 7th Ave just a couple of blocks south of Central Park or the Washington and Jefferson Hotel which is just off of 8th Ave in the Broadway District. Check hotels.com, expedia.com and travelocity.com and compare the rates they are showing. Depending on when you are going to be there, you might be able to get a special rate. Best of all, both hotels are in great locations.

when you're open to staying at a Hostel or a eu form (percentage bathing room) you'll get tremendous prices some decrease than $one hundred a evening. I basically went in November and stayed on the Wellington for an effective cost. will be diverse now. prices substitute.

Cheap hotel rooms are very hard to find in NYC and if you do, be very careful because they tend to be pretty seedy.
