I have on and off upper right abdomen pain. I have had my gullbladder removed long ago and have recently had 2 liver blood work ups done both are great. I had a untrasound of the area done and they found nothing. I don't have any symptoms of liver or pancrese disease I don't think and I am just confused. Can a muscle hurt on and off?? The doctors say that there is nothing but I am now pregnant and just need an answer. Can anyone help.

Some people continue to be plagued with gall bladder pain for years after it is removed, I don't think anyone really knows why, just that it does happen.
It is possible that you have some adhesions from your surgery. With the pregnancy your body will keep changing as the baby grown, and that can put pressure on that area and cause more pain from the adhesions. Congrats and good luck.
I'm glad to see that you have had excellent follow up care

Is it in the same area where you had the gall bladder surgery? The type of a pain where it feels like a stabbing pain, I had this on and off for 5 years after my gall bladder was removed, and I think it is from trapped air, or from scar tissue, I only know that mine moreless went away after I had exploratory surgery, and I only get it once in a while now, and I hope you can find an answer because I know how painful it can be. Also I had stones in my bile duct after my gall bladder was removed, 5 months after, and the doctor said I was roto routered, jerk of a doctor, and he felt like xxxx after finding the stones after he said that. I know I have to get up and walk the pain off if I wake up with it at night, sometimes I get a sip of milk and it seems to help within about 5 minutes. Hope this helps you, feel for your pain!

Yes, many muscles (e.g. intercostal muscles) can cause pain in the area you describe. Also, spinal and rib subluxations can cause similar pain. Hiatal hernia is also a possibility. You may want to visit your family Chiropractor for a thorough checkup.

Best wishes and good luck.
