Clipping wing feathers is easy! Check out the birdsnway website for pictures. You are only clipping 5 feathers to the second row. Don't cut at a angle. The reason is that when the feathers fold back the angle part will poke into the side of the bird. So cut the feather straight across.

No, i do not. Clipping a birds wings is like making us no longer be in a position to apply our legs. that is only a personal decision of mine to enable the fowl have finished flight. that is what they were meant to do, so i do not mess with it. If I even ought to, I clip the wings at the same time as i'm getting it used to me and the domicile, so it would not injure itself, yet after that initial era of getting used to each and everything, i don't think of clipping in needed.

Well, first of all, u have to hold the bird in a SAFE but FIRM hold, so that u can hold him while u cut his wings. FIRST, get a pair of gloves to wear on ONE HAND, DON'T have one on the hand u will be cutting with. use a pair of fingernail clippers to do this with. BEFORE u start to cut, use ur fingernail to press down heard where u want to cut at, this will tell u if it's safe to cut in that spot or not, because if the bird cries when u press down, it's not safe to cut in that spot. if he doesn't make a sound when u press down, then IT IS SAFE to cut in that spot. just make sure u hold the bird in a SAFE but FIRM manner so u don't hurt him when u try to clip his wings. cause if u cut in the wrong spot, he can bleed to death. good luck.

Here is a site on how to properly clip a bird's wings. You will need sharp siscors, a towel, and a second person. The site has photos as well. http://www.exoticpetvet.net/avian/clip.html

It's easy to do, but usually needs two people (one to hold, one to cut). Use SHARP scissors! See this website - it has good explanations & diagrams:
http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww53eii.htm
I like the second method - it looks more natural when the bird is perched.
