By pattern i mean that they need all 'believers' to be fundermentalist followers of one of the big three (Jewdaism, Christianity or Islam).

When a Pagan, or a moderate/liberal God follower, Bhuddist, ect gets thrown into the mix they get a wee bit lost.

Also instead of using the well thought out agrugements of the FSM or the IPU(MHHNBS) they resort to pathetic arguements about sky fairys and santa. I'm all for discussion and disagreement but isnt this a bit closeminded and just plain boring. Dont the other athiests get annoyed or at least boared of this?

Alright I'll conceed militant was the wrong word, I'm going to go look for the correct one.

And if you think the santa arguement is as sophisticated as the FSM arguement.........

OK it appears the term may either be Strong Athiest or possibly Fundermentalist athiest (not sure its possible but?)

So there we go - Strong Athiests (although there are plenty of these with well thought out arguements who dont feel the need to insult or convert- so I'm still stuck for a proper term)

Ok for anyone who can be bothered to check back here I asked another question and did a little more research and aside from being told to call them idiots i got this

Fundermentalist, evangelical and yes 'militant' athiest.

Fundermetalist - Someone who strictly adheres to a set of prciples to the exclusion of anything else

Evangelical - Need to convert

Militant - A fighter or an agressive person

Next time you disagree with the use of a word look it up before you decide it means to take up arms or kill people and NEVER assume some one is in your comforty zone of 'apponant' I am not Christtian

Also applorgies fo the spelling mistakes before people try to pick me up on them I am dyslexic and there is no spell check on this bit

my referance to FSM was that it is a fully developed idea whereas the santa clause idea is a little well inane in my opinion.
Using something that people tell their children is real for fun against the idea of somethin omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omnipresent among other things is for me a straw man arguement and not worth the internet its written on.

However all this is only my opinion.

If you're stuck for the proper term, how about using just plain old NASTY Atheists? I think that's really what you mean. "Militant" commonly has negative connotations, & people who are teed off with you will likely read it that way. However, the word was correct for your meaning. Don't expect copious intelligence from your answers. Yes, I've seen some "nasty" & ignorant answers from Atheists here, but believe me, not nearly as much as from "religious" people. I'm an Atheist, & yet I defend Christians when they're meanly attacked. I also feel, (few as they are), that the mean spirited Atheists tend to validate opinions already formed, that we are evil, immoral, uncivil & goodness knows what else. But one must remember--when called a sinner, that we're going to burn in hell, & that the ONLY salvation is Jesus, with a footnote, in essence: "But we love you & God bless you" we WILL respond. Fundamentalist Christians are the majority of offenders. Muslims are much more kind, & I have NEVER seen an uncivil or attacking answer here from a Buddhist (who is non-
relgious, thus classified as an Atheist), I take umbrage to RB. The last thing an Atheist believes in, is organized religion, AND civil or not--do NOT "recruit." Atheists in general, couldn't care less what someone chooses to believe. & by the way, you needn't apologize for your spelling. It isn't as if everyone here is perfect. Often, if people don't have a credible, sensible answer, they'll attack someone's spelling.

it extremely is a toss. There are some those who've there very own reviews about gender that could want to opt to from a woman mindset be considered as hateful. and then there are a pair of wackos that come top the following mixed with wandering trolls... lets get into the detest argument in spite of the straightforward shown reality that it is not desirable. in case you adventure someone is being ignorant talk up. it extremely is the in uncomplicated words element this is carried out. Complaining about it not in any respect solves something. by forcing debate and verbal substitute or perchance a minimum of forcing the bigot to own as a lot as there bigotries is the in uncomplicated words thanks to end hate.

"Also instead of using the well thought out agrugements of the FSM or the IPU(MHHNBS) they resort to pathetic arguements about sky fairys and santa"

Those arguments about Santa are generally perfectly good logical responses to believers' poorly thought-out false assumptions.

I do get sick of the "pushing their beliefs on me" argument, but almost all of the other arguments that atheists raise are good ones. I also see essentially nothing I'd call "militant atheism" here: that's generally a label that believers try to stick onto nonbelievers who simply stand up for themselves.
=============
You seem convinced that the arguments using Santa are weaker than those using FSM. Perhaps you're referring to some different arguments than those we've seen: I suggest you spell out the arguments, rather than just the subjects plugged into those arguments. The ones I know are really the same logical form of argument, and therefore equally strong.

Truth to tell, I am Pagan and admit I sometimes get a little 'lost', as you say on some topics, but I always am sure to check each question I answered a few days later, when they have closed so I can read up on everyone else's thoughts on the subject.

Nonsense. Like most atheists I have plenty of Christian friends I like and respect. I don't see any value though in intruding onto a "moderate" religious person's question with my thoughts if they aren't inviting the sort of response I reserve for the nutters. And in the latters' case, it's not the religion I want to take by the horns, it's the extremism, arrogance and bigotry. If it appears therefore that atheists spend their time banging away at only the lunatic fringe of the big religions... well, they probably are!

it looks like you raddled a lot of peoples underpants!!!!!!!!!

look , the reality is and always will be , the fact that we are all different and have different believes. that's what makes us an individual and certainly interesting! I think being an atheist isn't a bad thing as long as you leave people alone! but when you start naming names and ridiculing then things get funky and from funky to very ugly! my son is an atheist and I am a christian! we have no issues with that as long as it stays clean! he loughs at some of the atheists on this website because they are as whiny as any other religion! it doesn't make them militants tough!

I am bored with it too. I mean, there are those of us out there that what to get involved in the conversation. As a moderate God believer as you put it, i want to talk to others, but get sick of being stuffed into a box in which I do not fit. Athiests want me to be open minded to them, well i will gladly do that, but could you do the same for me?

No, make a claim regarding any of those religions and I'll have a go at it too. But of course you won't get shot down in flames as easily as say someone claiming the world is 6,000 years old.

And the whole point of the FSM is to posit something as silly as Santa Claus!

actually, I answre a lot of pagan questions on here, when I have something that might help and think moderate/liberal christians are great--and have said so in my answers on here I respect judaism and islam and just speak out against the christifying and dumbing down of the country I live in, also against the prejudices and repression of medical and scientific discoveries that result from it

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm not a fan of paganism or moderate theism any more than I'm a fan of fundamentalism. Moderates aren't an immediate threat to our lives, but they're life support for faith and I oppose "faith proliferation". Belief in any imaginary things is something I think humanity should eventually give up, but it's particularly the adherents to the "big three" that pose the biggest danger.
