VLC media player, it's freeware...

most programs will but requir a special kind of file called a codec to recognize them. windows media player will play avi files with a codec. simply search avi codec on yahoo. download and if neccessary install and then any program on your computer will be able to play avis

the best video player out there is vlc player and it is freeware... it can play almost any file
check it out... i love it the interface is slightly drab though
