Ok I have curly hair so I was thinking of straightening it . Does a relaxer aoutmatically straighten it or do you have to use one of them heat straighteners?

how does it work?

you put it on, wash it off, then straighten your hair and it should be very straight. you have to make sure ALL of the relaxer is out of the hair otherwise it will be very hard to straighten.

how long does it last?

about 1-2 months. since the hair is growing out the roots will start to come back and attack.

does it wash out?

what? like if you wash your hair? no. once it's in, it's in. then you just have to wait for the hair to grow out.

the end. my 2 cents.

No, it does not wash out! It's not like hair lotion or anything.

Your supposed to get a 'touch-up' on your relaxer every 2 months to keep it into shape.

But really, your hair will stay straight no matter how many times you wash it.

It's a reverse perm. It doesn;t wash out. It's damaging to the hair. There's a new Japanese straightening formula out there that isn't supposed to damage the hair. I've seen it advertised in NYC.

Depending on if you are trying to get it curly or straight it works. Read the directions carefully it should tell you how long to leave it in.
