my dog had puppies and we have her mate too so we want to know when we should start to separate them because we want to wait a while before letting her have more pups.

Don't you know how often she comes into heat? Surely you didn't breed her on her first cycle? Why not get her spayed rather than causing her more stress. Less chances of her getting cancer, too, if she's spayed.

she can get preg while nursing those pups. keep the dad away from mom!!! you shouldn't be considering breeding her for at least 1 year. tops 1 litter a year. if you want a healthy mom and pups, wait 2+ years. her body( internal parts) must be back where they started. with such a small breed, i won't breed her again. be happy she passed this litter with no problems. you might not be as lucky next time.
