Use a new one fresh out the pack and you won't have to worry about it.

Don't ever use a needle that's been used before, ever. I would never pierce my own ear unless I was a professional. You could really screw it up and create a scar that would normally not show up if you would have it done by a professional. It is imperative that you clean the not only the needle but also your skin area that will be pierced.

Pass it through a flame a couple times and then take a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol or really any kind of alcohol and wipe it off. I wouldn't recommend piercing your own ear but if you do make sure your needle is clean!!!

the correct answer to this question is to NOT pierce your own ear as you are an amatuer and it will probably go wrong and you'll probably end up going to the hospital and regretting ever thinking such a silly thought such as piercing your own ear. so just go into your local yellow pages or if u lost your phone book go to www.yellowpages.com and look under piercings and find a professional to do it for you!

burn the needle, clean it with alcohol and then quickly pierce your ear.

I numbed my ear with a clothes pin and a ice cube and it helped whole lot with the pain.

Go to the doc! You risk a lot of things from infection to putting it in the wrong place. It's safest to have an expert do it for you.
