You can delete it with no problems. You can always reinstall it or just download msn messenger if you ever want it.

Delete it, it's not worth the trouble! After you delete it in the add/remove programs do a search and delete it there also. Go to start>search files and type in (messenger) and delete anything that says windows messenger. Peace!

I deleted mine and had no problems! Windows itself is an operating system that runs all the programs and applications. Windows messenger is merely an application which runs on the system so deleting it is not a concern.

Go ahead and delete it. It's an independent program, so it won't hurt anything else on WINDOWS.

You can REMOVE it. Do not just delete the files. Go to:
START | SETTINGS | CONTROL PANEL | ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS | ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS.
Uncheck the box. That will remove it and it won't cause you any problems.
