If any of you have read the Bible you will find that those God used as Prophets were not all that nice. Once the other cheek is turned what then? I have met very few Christians that are like some of you claim to be. Are you lacking it honesty with yourself or just trying to project the perfect Christian attitude?

I am a Christian by the way, but an outspoken not very humble one. I will help any man even my enemy, but I don't try to fool my self. Hit me once shame on you hit me twice we can still work it out hit me a third and it's on.

As a Christian I always prefer to be kind. However, if someone says they don't believe in God then all I can say is they are a fool. How is that for honesty?

Self delusion my a s s! You have a very valid point. The meanest, most violent people I have ever encountered were Nuns. They used to beat the (no pun intended) holy living sc h i t out of us when we attended paraochial school. I have never in my life been beaten that badly by anybody. Some of the most nose stuck up in the air, judgmental mean people I have ever known always hid behind a religous cloak.
Being honest, Jesus had a special 6th sense that scared people (especially those over zealous religous Roman Catholics). I have learned that religon is not where it is at. Spirituality is key. I believe that Jesus Christ walked this earth way back when and I also intuitively know that he was most certainly not the only one crucified back then. He was special and had a psychic connection with someone special on the other side and people were not educated about that side of every human's abilities back then. Witch hunt if you will. Their stupidity at the fact that the other 90 percent of their brains would not come in handy for them like it did with him was key in leading to his crucifixtion. I don't pay much tribute to religon, just spirituality. I feel that churches should be called humanitarian type causes as they do help those in need and give people something to believe in. A lot of them do stuff their self righteous noses so far in the air, they become judgmental and do not act like my God. I intend to use the other 90 percent of my brain knowing that no matter how old school folks tried for centuries to have us believe otherwise, that logic and goodness is the only Bible anybody needs.

TRUE Christians follow and try to emulate Jesus. While the average man can't perform miracles, he can show compassion to his fellow man. I am not a biblical scholar but I believe that Jesus stands for love and peace. I am told that the bad things that God did to people or allowed to happen were for a reason. I may not go to church often, but I try to live my life with the Christian attitude.

Christians are not better than non Christian, we're just saved. As GOD said, "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of GOD. We are no better than you are we just accepted what Christ did on the cross so that we are forgiven and have are ticket to heaven to spend eternity with God and miss "The big bar- b-Que," where non Christians are the main course. Accept what JESUS did for you and get your free ticket out of Hell today. YEAH! we're goin' home!

Turning the other cheek does not equate to laying down like a door mat.
Jesus sent the Apostles out two-by-two with money and their swords. He told them (and us) that we will be hated for believing in Him.
The Prophets were humble men that were willing to be used by God. They were all killed by religious people who did not like their message to repent.
Following Jesus is not for the faint-of-heart.
Your premise is a flawed as your views.

It might have to do with that sermon on the mount stuff, you know...
if someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other
if someone asks for your coat, give your cloak as well
if someone asks you to carry something one mile, carry it two
Good advice. The dividends for following the advice are immense.
Christians are not REQUIRED to take the advice, though. Everything in the religion is voluntary. It's a matter of how badly you want to be Christ-like.

Christians are just people trying to follow Christ's teachings. Some do better in some areas than others.

I dont know, they use Jesus words about turning the other cheek against Christians, but never hear about the forgiving 70x7 statement he made, meaning if I am a Christian who isnt nice, I could be forgiven, and so can they be forgiven !!

As Christians we're not all perfect and invincible. the difference is that we have been bought with a price and is now cultivating and walking in righteousness our blood is not blue neither is it purple its red as is everyone Else's. because we've made a choice to walk righteously which means we have to now with the help of our GOD lose all the bad and replace them with good. it really wont happen over night everything is a process just as gold is tried and refined we undergo similar processes. thanks GOD bless.

I think many of us have given up on that mode of thinking quite a while ago in view of their numerous behaviors cancelling that delusion, eh? ;-) They seem to be, at least, just as pathological as everybody else within this sad species.
