Witchcraft, spiritism, foretelling the future. This is all the occult, and Catholic religion objects to this as the devil's work.

Alchemists tried to find how to make gold and other things unknown to mankind, and didn't fare well. This is also a black art.

Some people don't believe that the demons exist, but Jesus was well aware that they did. Satan when he tempted him showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time and said all these I own. Jesus never said he didn't!

That depends what you define as the "black arts". From my point-of-view, "arts" are neither black nor white. As for why (I'm assuming you mean magick and mysticism) they might delve into the subject matter - because they're curious and want to see for themselves if there may be something useful in them. I don't see this as a bad thing. It means they're thinkers. Thinkers are the people who often move society forward via technology and various sciences. Modern physics and chemistry were born from early studies in mysticism (alchemy). Imagine where we'd be without both of them.
ADDED: Umm - actually, alchemy is a lot more complex than trying to turn rocks into gold. It's obvious you've never studied alchemy and have no clue what you're talking about. Sorry, but whether you like it or not, alchemy was the precursor to modern physics and chemistry.
Oh - and another thing - early witchcraft (i.e. paganism) produced herbal medicine (something a lot of modern pharmaceuticals are based on via extracting certain components from plants). I'm not saying witchcraft gets all the credit, just that it did play a role in the health care of early civilizations and was also a precursor to modern chemistry.

Questions like this are why there will never be peace between Pagans and Christians. We are just as much enemies as the Arabs and Jews are, except that we live in America, where no one really fights because we're all too busy eating and watching TV.
Questions like this are also why many people are sick and tired of Christianity's hypocrisy. You Christians get upset when someone calls you intolerant or mean, but you have no qualms about saying negative things about other religions.
You say that my religion damages the soul. I had a friend who killed himself because he was afraid his father wouldn't love him anymore because he was gay. Do you know what gave him that idea? Christianity did. Christianity gave my friend the idea that if he took his own life, it would pay for the sin of being gay, and his dad would love him. His dad would have loved him regardless. My friend's church damaged his soul to the point that he killed himself to be loved. And don't you dare say that it was the individual church's fault and not Christianity's. My friend's church taught the Bible verbatim. My friend took his life because of your Good Book. The blood of my friend is on the hands of Christianity. And you have the gall to say that MY religion is soul-damaging and dangerous??

Just because they are curious about beliefs other than Christianity doesn't mean that they get involved with the 'black arts'. Few High School "Kids" even know who LeVey is, the author of the Black Bible.
Wicca and Paganism is usually what draws them, and THESE are NOT Black Arts.
