"A fool does not delight in understanding,
but only in expressing his own opinion." (Proverbs 18:2)
If someone comes with an open mind and a genuine desire to learn something, then by all means let them speak. But if you look at many of the questions, it becomes quite evident that some are no more interested in truth than is a cannibal interested in good table manners.

No. Everyone should visit whatever sections they wish.
Perhaps by visiting the R & S section, they can ask questions they have or make statements about issues that they have an opinion about.
No one should judge or try to exclude anyone. This is the reason so many paople have problem with R & S.
How will non-believers ever discover the answers to questions they have if they can't 'interact' with believers? Negativism by some members in the church (the body of Christ) has been responsible for so many misunderstandings.
Perhaps they aren't clear on the great commandment: To love your neighbors as yourself. This includes being patient, kind, considerate, understanding, and more. Unfortunately, just because the commandment was issued doesn't mean we always follow them.
I hope you will visit the R & S section as often as you like.
Hope this helps!

It should never be a problem when non-believers want to view the way believers behave. This can guide them or turn them away. People need to answer the way they would if they were talking to someone face to face. I have seen some answers by Christians that was very disturbing to me. I am a Christian and believe that if you question you either want to know or poke fun. Either way that is OK, because if I give you an answer in love some of it will rub off. Sometimes I like to give the shocking answer that will make you stop and think.

The problem and irony is that 95% of people who populate the Religion & Spirituality category aren't religious or spiritual at all. And they don't even ask real questions- they just reword statements as an excuse to insult religious people. They're just attention-seeking bigots.

No, this sectoin is a place to ask and answer questions about religion and spirituality. It makes no difference if you believe in some religion or not.
Those who complain that unbelievers come in here are quite confused.
What may add to that confusion, however, is the fact that some come in not to ask questions but to mock, insult and belittle. Some who believe in a religion also do that, however, so they have nothing to complain about.

The only problem is when certain people make obnoxious comments which communicate that they think that the entire concept of religion and spirituality is some kind of a sickness, or such, and we wonder then why they come here just to make trouble. They clearly are not coming here to learn, or at least seem to be strongly denying that they are.

The title is Religion & Spirituality, and non-religious or even non-spiritual people might take an interest. It is not Religious and Spiritual. I've always had an interest in religions, myth, folklore and superstition. I don't personally believe in them though.

I think it is great that non-believers visit the Religion and Spirituality section. Where else can they ask a curious question with some autonomy?

I happen to be very "religious & spiritual" and I love it that people come here to ask questions--especially the atheists, agnostics, etc. It gives them a forum to question us and it gives us a chance to practice defending our beliefs. It is annoying sometimes when people are disrespectful but hey it's just text.
