How do you know that you are Christian?

4 HE taught the non Jewish ( as well as many Jews) !
5 HIS teachings were (and are) believed by MANY people !
6 HE returned to HIS place - we call that place heaven !

You become a Christian when you have recognized your sinfulness and hopelessness, turned from that sinfulness, and have made Jesus Lord of your life.

This is done by faith in Christ's finished work on the cross. Jesus said "It is finished," just as He died, which means the transaction was complete. He swapped His sinless life for our sinful one. He paid our debt for our sin.

It is only when you trust in that, and not anything that you can do, that you become a Christian. If you try to add any good work or religious rites to that, you are trusting in something less than Christ, and cannot be a Christian.

Once one becomes a Christian, they then live to please Him, instead of themselves. They choose to serve others rather than self. It is all about a familial relationship between the Christian and God, and the Christian and others.

I see two different questions here.
To become a Christian, I didn-t do very much. God convinced me of HIs love for me in Christ, He sent people who demonstrated it, By His Spirit He convinced me that Christ is alive, and I surrendered my life to Him in repentance, faith and joy.
How do I know that I am a Christian?
First of all, I do not depend on myself for that. I know that I am a Christian because the Word of God says "He who comes to me I will not cast out". My trust is in Him and not in myself.
What evidences show that I am a Christian?
The first epistle of John tells us:
loving our brothers in Christ
loving HIs Word
obeying His commandments
All these are signs that a person is a Christian.
The same epistle also says it is written so I could know that I am a child fo God if I have believed in Christ.

Becoming a Christian is easy and membership is free. This is how it works:

You go to God and ask for membership.

He says "okay".

The only standard he sets is that you take baby steps toward being a better person throughout your life. To help you, he offers a piece of himself to give you strength (that's what we call being born again).

I believe that Jesus Christ was/is the son of God. He died on the cross for me/you and rose again on the third day. He GAVE His life, no one took it from Him. He said if I believe the above and repent of my sins He would save me and I would never be separated from Him. I prayed with this knowledge and asked that He would come into my heart and become my Lord and Savior.

Others will identify you as a Christian becuse of the way you carry yourself, if you are a Christian your light will shine. I gave my life to Christ, and things changed.

I gave my life and self over to the Lord and the Holy Spirit. By His blood I am saved. I asked Him to be my Lord and Savior. I asked Him to come into my life and guide me. I asked Him to fill me with love, compassion and mercy. To show me His truths through the Word and during prayer. I invited the Holy Spirit into my life that I would know how to be the way the Lord wanted me to be.
