I am wanting to get a tattoo. I am a 22 year old female. I am very undececided because this is something that after it is there will ALWAYS be there!

I want to know your feelings on:
The tattoo's that you have now
If you feel you made the right desision
If you would do it again if you had the chance

Each one of the questions are very important. If you can answer then all it would be greatly appricated.

Thanks,
Moon_fariey

Don't get a tattoo! It's very painful and depending on where you get it you even risk acquiring potentially fatal diseases like Hepatitis.

If you change your mind and decide you don't want the tattoo any longer it will cost a LOT of money for *many* painful laser treatments to have it removed. Even then some of it may be unremovable.

If you can't affor the treatments you're stuck with it. Also, as you grow older and your skin wrinkles and sags, the tattoo will also do the same and become even more unsightly.

Do yourself a favor: if you must get a tattoo, get one of those that last for a few days then wash off. You'll thank me when you're older...don't ask me how I know ;)

I am going to answer this one even though I am not at your age specified. I have 3 tattoos. I have them in places that can be shown off if desired but are otherwise hidden. I chose to put them there. I got the tattoos because they meant something to me. I plan on getting a couple more. I don't have trashy designs. I don't have people's names strewn about in places that can't be hidden. I have a couple tattoos. I love them. And given the chance again, I would get them all again. I hope that answers your question or at least helps you make a decision.

Well, I am 45. I got my first tattoo when I turned 30. I now have 9 tats and do not regret a single one. I have them in places that are easily covered with clothing or my hair. The placement decisions were because of folks that treat people differently because of the "color" of their skin.
I carefully decided on each tattoo I have so that I would not regret it. I love all of them and still want more eventually. Hey, ya live only once.

both of my parents have tattoos and i will tell you that their first tattoos were flash that they picked off of the wall at a shop and both of them wish they had not gotten those tattoos. HOWEVER they have fallen in love with the art of tattoos. my dad is getting his first tattoo covered up and last month got a great tattoo by my artist. my mom will be getting a custom tattoo done by my artist at a convention in march. i think the moral of the story is to pick something that means something to you. because if you just pick something off of the wall, the likelyhood is that you won't love it in a few years. but if you get an original piece of art that has something to do with you and your life then you will be more likely to love it forever.
ALSO it is extremely important to pick a great tattoo artist. not everybody who tattoos is good at what they do. a crappy artist can turn the best tattoo idea into a crappy tattoo.

i know i'm not 50 but i think it's pretty jack *** for people to respond to your question and not even answer it.

i have 4 tattoos, my first one was when i was 18, and it STILL means the world to me....i'm sure at age 50 i'll be just as proud of my ink as i am now.

if your QUESTIONING if you'll like it when your 50 stop and think are you questioning the tattoo as a whole or are you questing the design?? in my eyes....getting a tat isn't something that should be questioned either you want or you don't and if you want it you know whats down the road for you having it.

When I turned 32 I got a tattoo for my birthday. Its a small yellow rose.I had it put where i could show it if i wanted or cover it if i needed to. I'm 50 this year and I still think it is a nice tattoo.Just use logic if you get one...Most employer prospects don't like to see tattoo's on future employees, and it doesn't look good if you are wearing a dress and you have large ones on your legs.Be classy....Think before you tattoo...
