No, salt won't do the trick. Add a little olive oil to your water and stir after its' boiling. That will help!

As the others have said - add a little oil to the boiling water.

It may be that the pot you are boiling the pasta in is not large enough. If the pasta is crowded and cannot separate, it will stick together. A five to eight quart dutch oven, stock pot, or even a roasting pan is the ideal size for one to two pounds of spaghetti.

As the pasta first softens is when it often sticks together. Make sure the water is at a rolling boil at this stage, and stir to help separate the pieces. You can then turn down the heat slightly, and stir less frequently.

Ciao!

A little oil will help. The salt is mostly for flavor and to bring the water up to boiling point faster.

No, salt won't do anything about sticking but a teaspoon of olive oil in the water might help you out.

Use a tablespoon of butter or olive oil when the water comes to a boil. Then put in your pasta. When the pasta is cooked it is a good idea to put it in a colander and wash it under a tap of ice cold water. This gets rid of the excess starch, then you can replace the pasta in a fresh pot of boiling water to reheat it.

Along with the tips that everyone else has told you, It is usually a good Idea to mix in a little of your sauce if u have one with your pasta after it has been cooked and you have put it into a serving dish to keep it from sticking.
