be polite and respectful. if you do say something, make sure it is kind, not sarcastic. smile. don't curse. approach her from the view point that you want to find out about her: what kind of music she listens to, what kind of food/movies she likes, things like that. show that you care about her and understanding her interests and she will ask you about yours. you will find things in common with her using this approach (just like you get to know new friends.) she will see you are sincere about knowing about her and not view you as coming on strong. you might not end up dating her but you might end up as friends who like to hang out together. either way you win. good luck!!
