I think we all feel mental anguish, except the sociopaths, who has no conscience. I read not too long ago that about half of the world suffers from post traumatic stress. Over half of the marriages end in divorce--so there are many dysfunctional people out there. I had a psychology professor once say "Every one looks pretty strange to me but you and me. And sometimes I wonder about you."

I don't know about mental defects, but no doctor in the tri-state area can figure out what is growing on my big toe.

I'm bi-polar and at a high-risk of relapsing into clinical depression. I probably have countless other diagnosable problems, it makes life interesting :) Even without genetic dispositions, no one could go through all the $ hit I've had to go through and be perfectly normal.

NO 100% since no one is perfect and pure as the driven snow then everyone suffers in some way from sickness.

If religious belief is a defect then yes thats about right, though I'm sure we atheists have a few too so the number is likely to be higher....
