You asked Why are Mothers jealous of their daughters, Mother-in-Law? My guess is that sometimes they feel like they are going to loose the love their Daughter's have for them, and that they will pass it to their Mothers-in-law and that makes them very jealous. I have six daughters, and two sons, and when one by one of my Daughters got Married, I knew that all I wanted for them was to be happy with their husbands, and to have a good relationship with their in-laws, because if I would have shown that I was the jealous type with my daughters, they would not have a happy relationship with their husband's or in-laws. Have you heard that saying a Son, is a son, till he takes him a wife, a Daughter is a Daughter the rest of her life, is so true because when my two sons got Married I knew that their wives would come first, and it is that way with them. But, I do not meddle with my sons, Marriages but, have always tried to mind my own business if I wanted them to be happy, and all of them have been married for a lot of years. Including my Daughters.

I'm not jealous of my daughter's mother-in-law, as a matter a fact I've done everything I can think of to try to be nice to her but she doesn't like me. She thinks she's better than everyone else. So I just basically, stay away from her.

Because they are taking over the mothers' job. They're feeding him, caring for him, and, in many cases, cleaning him. What was originally the mothers' task is now that of the daughter-in-law. Mothers feel that their life's purpose is being threatened.

Because mothers are afraid you'll love them less. Imagine if your child liked another childs parent more than you. It would hurt.

I'm not. Actually, I think that the other is in a rougher state than I am! So the rule doesn't always apply I guess...
